06-8-2009 - What does it all mean

Hey ladies I hope all is well with everyone. I went to the doctor yesterday and they said I was measuring big(basically im measuring at 40 weeks instead of 37) well that's because of my gestaional diabetes. So my doc ordered a u/s. Well I lucked up and got one for today. When we got done the woman said He was about 7lbs 3oz and she said it could be off by a pound and if she was she was leaning more toward the 8lbs side. Now she also said that he was very long (she would guesstimate about 22 1/2 inches...already) which is given seeing how my son's father is 6'7 and I'm not short myself 5'6 1/2. Also I have alot of amniotic(spchck) fluid. So I guess my question is what do you think? Will my doctor take him early or let me go? I know my son is a big boy but is that normal? She said that everything was good thou. Placenta looked good and that my son was in the 50 precentile for everything...except his big ass head....lol which he got from me no doubt. Did any of you ladies go thru this or are currently going thru this? What are your doctors telling you? I'm concerned because I don't go back to the doc til wed. I would like to know what to expect. I guess Im just nervous and want my baby to be healthy.

Now that that is out of the way everything else is fine. I got to see that my son has a head full of hair. Everything is everything. I will post pics p of the ultra sound soon.
