16-11-2010 - Researching possible reason for Birth defect's.

My mood while writing this blog: Obsessed with finding answer\'s.

So i have been going to my doctor for some check up's lately with a few thing's and as we decided to ttc, he (my doctor) wanted to monitor me.
I have been researching thing's to do with Emily, Conception what can go wrong and possible reason's. I read on a site about late Ovulation contributing to miscarriage due to the egg being over mature and getting ready to shed before implantation. I then thought well maybe that could have been a contributing factor for me. I worked out that Based on my due date with Emily and period start date I ovulated around and concieved on day 28 of my cycle.

I went to my doctor and explained my finding and a print out from the site and he agreed It was a very possible explanation due to our testing of chromosones and genetic's being clear.
I was going to go easy with TTC this month but I got all caught up with a friend of mine (also ttc) and friend and my doctor suggested I try OPK'S. Ovulation predictor kit's.
I tested from day 8 up until day 17 I didnt get a positive. So I went to the doctor and he suggested testing again until a positive. So We had worked out I was Ovulating late and maybe this month not at all. I then tested up to day 24. I didnt get a positive.
I went back to my doctor yesterday and we talked about my OPK result's of no positive.
Dr Fantini think's that MAYBE with Emily I Ovulated so late in my cycle that the egg was too mature and was already breaking down before the sperm could reach it and My uterine wall was ready to shed (period) as The egg was releasing. Therefore with both combined The defect's could have happened.
So I didnt Ovulate this month that we know of.
So we are going to try a drug called Clomid that will help me Ovulate and Ovulate at a normal stage of my cycle. It may also help me to regulate my cycle to increase my chance of concieving without defect.
So anyway to sum up. I got my period today on day 30 of my cycle. Which Is a good cycle length if I had of ovulated.
Month one of TTC clearly didnt happen.
I am hoping When I get to try the Clomid It will work and I will be able to Ovulate a healthy egg and fall pregnant and have a healthy happy baby.
Anyway I may be a little tooo consumed in this but I wish I had more answer's.
