29-7-2009 - Craziness and upcoming fun

My mood while writing this blog: Hopeful as usual :-)

Oh my gosh! It's been nuts the last few weeks :-) I'll give you the TTC update after the boring details *smile*

We went to NC to visit my family on July 16th. My parents are split and live on opposite ends of the state, my brother and friends live in the middle so we were all over in a week. It was great.. Abigail got to play with her cousins, I got to see an Aunt I haven't seen in maybe 20 years or so. It was nice overall but I was VERY happy to come home... You know how it is when you spend too much time in a small space with your mom *giggle*

Now for the good stuff!! Our tests all came back beautiful! In fact the doctor said my FSH numbers were better than he expected so egg age/quality is our only issue. We could keep trying naturally but it could take forever and I don't know if I have the patience to keep trying. We could do IUI but then we run into the same issues.

We decided on IVF. For the money, it gives us a better chance to have a baby because they know the quality of the embryo before they ever transfer. Better odds than IUI.

So for now we're just waiting on AF. Once AF shows, we start the injections (told the Doc I need to borrow someone elses tush for a little bit!) and then we're on our way. In 2-3 weeks he'll be taking eggs and then hopefully a week later he'll be putting 2 fertilized eggs back in. We paid for an upgraded package in case he doesn't get enough quality eggs during the first retrieval that way we'll get one more retrieval and have a better chance for quality eggs.

So that's where we're at. I'm sorry I missed so many exciting things going on but know I've thought of you all and hope everything is well.
