My mood while writing this blog: a little disappointed |
So, I had my 36 week check up yesterday. It was exciting because it was the first of my weekly visits!! Yay!! It's hard to believe that I'm already at 36 weeks (even though the days seems to be dragging now). I think what everyone has been telling me is true...that the last month feels like the longest ever!! Anyway, everything was good. I gained 2 pounds since the 34 week appt. Blah!! Blood pressure and everything was good. I have two cousins that are pregnant and one is due 12 days before me and the other is due the day after me. Both of them are dilated some already and the one due 12 days before me has already been told she will be induced on the 7th (she's already dilated to two). She's so lucky. That's less than two weeks away!!! So, seeing as how my other cousin who is due the day after me was already dilated to one (her appt was right before mine yesterday so we were there together lol) I was hoping that something would be getting started with me. Nope!! No such luck. I'm not dilated at all and he said my cervix actually still felt pretty thick. Ughh. I was just hoping I would be something, you know?? Anyway, he said my baby girl would definitely not be coming within the next week (which is fine cause I know she needs to bake some more) and that I could very well come back next week and be dilated. I hope so because he also said that if I don't dilate at all I could be waiting for her as long as a week after my due date!!! OMG. Lol. He said that it was unlikely though and that he was sure I would be making some progress soon. I sure hope so. Any of you ladies went from dilated to nothing to maybe 2 within a week?? I hope I am by next week. I just want to feel like my body is making some progress. Well, I guess that's it for today. I hope you ladies are doing great. =]

Thursday, 25 Jun When I was pregnant with my 1st I was dilated to a 1-2 and I still went 10 days over my due date. In saying that dilation can happen very quickly and by next week you may be dilated a little. When i went into labor I was a 4 when I got in there and went to a 10 in less than an hour. Give your body time, trust me the wait is worth it :-) babyenchilada -
Thursday, 25 Jun I hope you have some progress too. Everyone's right, you just never know what could happen. Hang in there girly! ceandrusis (BLUE) -
Thursday, 25 Jun I wouldn't think anything of it. I wasn't dilated at all with my first at my 36 week appt and then the next visit I was at 2 so it can happen quickly! I went a week early with my daughter so you still have a shot at going early! If not, I have a recipe that you can try that supposedly puts women into labor within 48 hours. Scalini's eggplant recipe in Georgia if you want to look it up! katjak7 -
Thursday, 25 Jun All I can say is that you just never know. I am still only 1-2 cm dilated and have been for like 4 weeks now (I am 40 weeks and 4 days pregnant and this is my first). I am 70% effaced and the baby is pretty low... There are some that have absolutely no dilation or effacement and they went into labor like 3 weeks ago, just like that. I know my friend was dilated 3-4 cm for 3 weeks and her cervix was thin but she still ended up being a week late. I know it is frustrating but even with evidence with progress doesn't necessarily mean that you will be going into labor soon and vice versa. So my advice is just to relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy as much as you can (I know it can be so uncomfortable at times though!) and wait for nature to take its course... tatik -
Thursday, 25 Jun well listen first off im happy everything is great! and for me i have been 80% efface and 2 cm dialated since 32 weeks and i had a postive ffn test meaning i had a chance of giving birth within two weeks!
i stand now almost 39 weeks!!!!!!
my doctors laugh at me every time i make it to my weekly appts bc i was freaking out about going into preterm labor ...eventually my cervix got longer to 70% bc of bedrest....basically my point is NOONE KNOWS ANYTHINGG!!!!!! :)

Thursday, 25 Jun My doctor said I wasn't dialated either, but she didn't think anything would be happening for me within the next 2 weeks! I have an appointment Monday, so we shall see. lol
