Sometimes I have to laugh at the little baby growing in my belly. He kicks, he wiggles, and he moves all around. If he's born healthy, he will likely be taller than me, when full grown. I can be his mommy only for a while, and then he will find and meet someone with whom he can form his own family.
I marvel at how I met my husband. How he used to be a baby too. How his mom probably used to cuddle and coddle him. And now he is grown, but she still loves him all the same. But she raised him, and in many ways, I have her to thank for such a wonderful guy.
I wonder whom my son will marry. Will he be straight, or will he be gay? No matter. I hope he will find someone to love, and someone to love him. For in days such as those of late, when things are tough, and money is tight, I realize, as the band Sublime sings, "Love is all I got."
Here's a lovely story about a couple separated by war, and brought together at last many decades later.
