09-7-2009 - Baby Update - New Doctor July 06, 2009

I started going to a new OB today. I am so relieved. They went over all my paperwork from the other Dr and told me they did not believe that my bleeding & HCG dropping were signs of an attempted MC. I was told they thought it was more likely that I had twins and one did not make it. I told him that made since because the midwife had done an ultrasound at 12wks and I saw what looked to me like a second sac. I asked what it was and she said she did not know. She thought it may have been gas. He just shook his head and looked at the other Dr. then back at me and said we think that's what happened. They are setting me up for another ultrasound to make sure everything is still ok. The heartbeat is good w/ this one. It seems to be doing ok so far. I think knowing a possible reason as to why I was bleeding and HCG was dropping actually made me feel more confident that everything w/ this baby is going to be ok from this point on. It's wierd but I feel less stressed to know that I may have already lost a twin than I was when I thought I was loosing or might loose this one. It's a wierd feeling. I am sad in a way but I have seemed to reach a level of peace with it. I have a very good outlook on things w/ this Dr. too. They are redoing my pap bc the old Dr. told me everything was good. The new Dr. showed me the test results that clearly show they did not even collect enough cells to complete the tests. Also they are requesting an US of the female anatomy to make sure what the Tech saw was actually a cyst and not another sac or something else. My chart from the old Dr. (keep in mind I am using the term Dr. lightly - at my old Dr. I saw mainly midwives and once a nurse. I saw an actual OBGYN Dr. one time)....... said they did a vaginal US that never took place as well as measurements of my uterus that never happened. I kid you not until I got to this Dr. at nearly 16 weeks a tape measure never touched my belly. Next visit is 08/03.
