| 12-5-2009 - Mother's Day Weekend | My mood while writing this blog:ok |
Let me say first off that camping while pregnant is not the most fun adventure to take on LOL. And I don't think I will ever be doing it again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else who is thinking about taking on the adventure LOL. We left Friday early morning for our annual camping trip to the Okanogan National Forest which is about a 3 1/2 hour drive from my house. I have been going to this same camping spot with family and friends since I was in diapers and my parents had been going with their friends since they had graduated from highschool. So it's around 40 years going to the same spot during the same weekend every year. I look forward to it every year and I get really excited to go, plus I figured I could do it pregnant and it wouldn't be that big of a deal...... wrong.
Thursday the 7th I didn't have to work and I figured I could use the day to pack and get ready. Well then poor little Isaiah starts by puking first thing in the morning and having a fever so high he is sweating through his shirt! I spent the day taking care of him and cleaning up after him and giving him meds. At least with the meds he would start acting normal and his fever would go down so I wasn't too concerned. I asked him if he still wanted to camping still and if he did he needed to rest as much as possible. So he did :o) Which really helped the little guy out when he awoke Friday morning siked to go camping!
Friday we got up early and headed out to the campsite around 9:30-10am which was a little later than I wanted but it didn't really matter. The drive there wasn't too bad at all, the weather was nice so the drive was really pretty. I drove the whole way there and by the time we got there I was definitely a little stiff from the position I was sitting in. We set up camp and hung out with one other couple that arrived shortly after we did. I made myself a little grill pit to cook on and made dinner. That was a lot of work because I didn't have coals so I had to constantly feed the little fire LOL We ended up going to bed pretty early mostly because I was tired and Jason passed out after drinking more than a 12 pack to himself...
Saturday was really hard for me because I didn't sleep that well thanks to my drunk BF who snored most of the night and then we didn't have much padding to sleep on. We pretty much laid down a couple blankets and sleeping bags to lay on and it was close to freezing temperature wise. Then Jason began to drink again with the assistance of my brother starting in the morning and into the evening. I pretty much just hung around my tent and cooked lunch and dinner while Jason buddied up with my brother and they played horse shoes with a couple other older guys there which was fun to watch.
I felt pretty left out because I couldn't really get around that easy due to my stiffness and pelvic pain. Plus I wanted to enjoy a couple of drinks with everyone else. Isaiah had no other kids to play with and I was pretty much the only other sober person there to hang with and I wasn't very exciting to him LOL because I couldn't really go on the hikes and walks he wanted to :( So as the day went on I barely saw Jason because he was running around with my brother and hanging with the other young group of college kids there. That really hurt my feelings to see him and the other younger people having a good time, hiking up the side of the mountain and even though I couldn't really go, no one invited me nor really included me. So that was really lame.
Then Saturday night rolls around and Jason and my brother were completely shit faced and just encouraging each other to drink more. Isaiah got tired so I laid in the tent with him until he fell asleep. I couldn't get comfortable on the hard ground so I laid there awake just bored and sad. Jason came in and asked what I was doing and I pretty much just told him to leave me alone because I was upset. I told him I was bored and feeling left out. He ended up going back out and partying.... I got pissed off at him and told him to pack his stuff and find somewhere else to live to get his attention. It worked for a half second until him and my brother started drinking again! I was sooooo hot. I ended up sleeping in the front seat of my car most of the night to drown out the drunken snoring and it was much more comfortable anyways.
Mother's day was pretty lame for me. I didn't get anything really except for a card from a friend of my mom's who had passed out a little card to all the mom's. Since Isaiah didn't go to daycare care the later half of the week he didn't get to make anything like they normally would've to give to me, so I understand why he wouldn't have gotten me anything. Nothing from anyone else which was kinda sad. I had gotten my mom a card and my brother had forgotten to get her anything. We pretty much packed up and then hit the road. I spent the trip home in pain driving the 3 1/2 hour trip with both guys sleeping in the car. We stopped and ate and Jason actually bought me and Isaiah lunch which was nice. Then getting home we had to unpack and get ready for bed and do laundry and bathe.
So that was my weekend full of not as much fun as I had hoped. I did take some cute pictures I will post up sooner than later. Hope all of you ladies had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend yourselves :o)
