| 30-6-2009 - Baby Shower/Birthday Party was a SUCCESS!! | My mood while writing this blog:thrilled |
Sorry it has taken me so long to get this posted up. I have been crazy busy at work and hadn't had the time to get this all written up.... so here it is...
I took Thursday and Friday off to relax and get ready for the big party. I had my dr appt on Thursday which went well. Of course I sat in the friggin waiting room for at least an hour until I saw the dr for 5 minutes LOL Friday my mom took the day off so we could do some shopping for the party. I tried not to let myself get too upset when she wanted to pick up some blue stuff for the other gal who was going to be there since she was having a boy. I just picked out more pink than blue, whatever. My mom paid for pretty much all of the stuff besides like $30 which I had paid for so I let her get what she wanted. Then we cleaned the house a bit more and went to bed fairly early so we could get up and get ready for people to arrive. I kept forgetting that it was my actual birthday that day because I was preparing so much for the party.
Saturday morning I woke up pretty early because I was excited and began to make my rounds around the house to make sure things were in place. We started setting up everything and getting ready. I sent Jason and Isaiah to the store to pick out some fun pool toys and get some lunch (and to get them out of our hair LOL). When they returned Isaiah had a sweet little card and CD I had wanted, which Jason picked out and paid for, so he could give me a present. It was so cute, he was so excited to give me the present :o) Such a sweet little boy. So people started arriving a bit earlier than I expected and I didn't get to finish getting ready all the way but whatever. The dress I had bought for the shower wasn't fitting either so I had to change my wardrobe LOL. It made me feel like I couldn't breath... Oh well I can wear it when I get skinny again LOL
We provided the meat and everyone brought side dishes! We had so much food it was awesome. We probably ended up with about 40-50 people there and some came and went so they weren't all there quite at once which was fine. No one else who was celebrating their birthday showed up and the other pregnant gal was only there for like 20 minutes so no one stole my shine! I was happy about that. I got so many gifts it was truely amazing. I got at least a months supply of diapers and wipes if not more. And TONS of cute little clothes. Oh I cannot wait to dress my sweet little girl up in those cute little outfits :o) I got lots of birthday gifts as well (which was mostly cash) so it was super special for me. I loved it!! On top of the gifts we got a couple of gift cards as well so we decided to keep those for emergency diaper fund or maybe something we might need in the future after Arianna is born. I feel like I am so ready for this because I have just about everything I could use for the first part of her life.
I am going to post up my pics right now so you can see the cool gifts I got. I so was pleased with the outcome despite my worries before the party. I am still thinking I will do a meet the baby party just so see everyone again and show off my little girl.
