05-8-2009 - I think I might have a chance at induction

Today I went to my check up and the doctor checked my cervix again... completely closed but I had thinned a little bit. I am supposed to be 40 weeks this friday according to the ultrasound but my original due date was July 27th according to my last period. The doctor wanted to treat me as if I was overdue now because of my history with going almost 10 days overdue with Isaiah. He ordered a non stress test and an ultrasound for a profile of the baby and hows shes doing right now. So they hooked me up on my left side for 20 minutes or so. I was having a really hard time with this because laying on my hips on a hard surface just kills me. I feel like my hips are not aligned so it pushes around the bones in the middle in my pubic area... sometimes it almost like grinding... anyways... So the NST turns out fine, her heartbeat is great, her movement is awesome, everything looks good. Then they tell me they need to send me over to the hospital to get the ultrasound done. I drive over there (which is across the street and a couple blocks down) and go in search of this imaging place. I actually had to be admitted for this which I thought was strange, but they did confirm I was pre-registerred for when I go into labor. I then find out I have an hour wait until the ultrasound tech will be available because the people waiting before me just went back. I forgot to mention that I have had Isaiah with me this whole time. So at this point I am hungry because it's after 3pm and we didn't really eat lunch so we went in search of food. We find food and right as we come back to the U/S place I get paged on the thing they gave me and they took me back. The nice lady took us back and did the U/S quickly. Well I guess it took about 20-30 minutes. I got to see her though! It was wonderful to see her again and I got to see her breathing and see her little face. Not in 3D but I could still see her little nose and mouth and eyes :o) I asked her how big she was and she said about 6lbs 15oz and I had guessed 7lbs (good guess). The u/s was however giving me a weird due date of August 27th or something and she just said, um yeah that is not right it could be off by 3 weeks. I was gonna say if they were seriously about to tell me I had to be pregnant until August 27th I think I would die! Especially if she gained weight until then LOL So anyways, everything on the u/s looked awesome. The dr asked for all this info so they could check into it and they will call me tomorrow to see what the next step will be. They did say, hey we will probably talk about getting this labor thing going. I was like yes please! Especially if I am being looked at as overdue now. Friday would make me 42weeks if I went by the 7/27 due date. Either way I am completely full term now and I think once they get me kicked into labor and give me that epi it'll be a breeze from there. I am excited for this and hope I get to see my little girl really really soon!! I will update tomorrow :o)
