| 27-8-2009 - Arianna is 2 weeks old today! Where has the time gone... | My mood while writing this blog:Content |
These last couple of weeks have just flown by. Of course there have been plenty of appointments to attend that have helped pass the time. Plus the constant care of the baby and Isaiah. I am so happy I have a couple more weeks let of maternity leave pay because I would be lost without this little bit of income. I still have a lot to decide as far as what the heck I am going to do. I am not going to return to my job but I will have to figure out if there is something that can be done to supplement the income I will not have. Jason doesn't make enough to pay for everything and I think it is a bit unfair to expect him to make payments on my bills like my car payment etc. I have an appt with DSHS to see about getting some sort of assistance with that. Fingers crossed I will get something from them other than WIC and medical. Although those things help I need a bit more so we will see what happens.
Isaiah is doing well with a new sister around. He helps me out when I need him to grab me something or put her binky back in her mouth and then does his own thing so that has been really nice. He is such a good boy :o) I got him all signed up for Kindergarten so he will be starting that September 10th! I have even taken him to the playground a couple of times to let him play and get comfortable with his school area. Now all I have to do is take him shopping for school supplies which won't be too much to do since he won't really need alot. He wants some sort of sketchers shoes LOL and I already got him a Batman backpack per his request. I also still need to get a certified copy of his birth certificate for his school which is another task to add to my list of things to do in my spare time.
Arianna is a wonderful baby. I am so in love with her it amazes me. She sleeps pretty good for a couple of hours at a time and then only wakes up to eat and get a diaper change and then goes right back to sleep! She sleeps a bit longer with me than in her bassinet and of course I do not mind that. I had both the kids sleep with me last night :o) The only thing I worry about though is that she seems to want to be held A LOT. I don't want her to become dependent on me for comfort so I have been letting her cry a little before I pick her up. She has not liked that too much and got real pissed off at me so I had to pick her up LOL Today she only fussed a bit and then quieted down on her own so that was nice. She is a really good eater too. The other day she slept for a little longer than normal and when she woke up she ate like 8oz in an hour! I almost didn't want to give it to her in fear she would throw up all over but she wanted it and kept it in.
I got her all set up with a local dr, who I think is just lovely, and she got her 2nd round of PKU testing done. So far everything has been good for her. She has gained back all her weight and some. She was 7lbs 19in at birth and when we left the hospital she had gone down to 6lbs 10oz. At her dr visit last week she was 7lbs 4oz and 20in! I couldn't have been more thrilled to hear that she is growing so well. And she is super strong! Holds her own head up and looks around. Sometimes even tries to crawl up my chest when I have her sitting on me. She is such a doll!
Anyways, I better get back to my list of things to do in my spare time since the baby is napping and Isaiah is eating his lunch and watching cartoons. Hope you all are doing very well and enjoying your babies if you have had them. And labor dust to those who are ready to pop!
