24-6-2009 - Went to hospital..

My mood while writing this blog: much better

So this morning I called the pedi. and they werent much help. She again said to add formula to his diet and that his weight is a concern.

Then I get a call from the hospitals lactation consultant and asked me to come down before his next feeding. So we did and first off she weighs Aidyn and he weighed 11 lbs 7 oz...???? At the Tuesday appt at the pedi he was 11 lbs 4 oz. ??? then I fed him and he was 11.11. So she did the calculation and he ate 3oz. Now keep in mind I was still expressing milk at the end but he was not so interested. So the lac. cons. said she isnt concerned a bit. She said hes not showing the signs of "failure to thrive". Another nurse also came in (whom was there during our delivery stay) and said he looks perfectly fine. So they said to make sure he feeds from one side longer so he can get the hind (sp) milk (fatty milk). Maybe thay will put some fat on him. She also suggested "mothers milk" I guess its a tea. But I have been downing water all day and trying to keep my fluids up. So I'll probably hold off on the formula for a few days and maybe try the hypoallergenic kind next week. (but only a couple oz)...So Im feeling much better...yah...Now we'll see what Tuesday's appt. brings?!
