| 08-6-2008 - 36 weeks | My mood while writing this blog:weird |
Well, I think I understand when people go on about the last month of pregnancy being so tough, hot damn have my hormones gone into overdrive! Ive gotten to the point of just thanking my husband every morning for dealing with me today, a pre emptive approach. Yesterday was an odd day. I had nt been feeling the baby move very much. Now, Ive gotten A LOT better about this , and didnt go in to the hospital straight away at all. I pretty much waited around all day seeing if the little bugger was going to start , he didnt , so I went in. Well of course, as soon as I sat down in the special NST chair he starts shifting all over the place. Great, thats a load off my mind Then the midwife does the standard checks, bp, urine, fundal height. She quiet through the whole thing. I always ask when they do the fundal height if Im on track because Ive got small belly complex. She said she measured me at 34 weeks . Then she went on to tell me all the variables that could affect fundal height (I wonder if measuring with your fingers instead of a tape measure could be one?!?) But that 2cm ahead or behind is normal and not to "get in a bend"- does she know who shes talking to? Queen of "getting in a bend"
I left feeling weird. Matt and I were supposed to go into London for a friends birthday party/dinner. I was running late because of going to the hospital. I went home and threw some clothes on and dragged myself out the door. Well, when we got there it wasnt a dinner for my friend , but my baby shower, I was COMPLETLY suprised. Shock coupled with weirdness from earlier in the day rendered me speechless for a good hour. It was great though, and she put so much effort into it. To be honest I was nt too keen on the center of attention/opening presents bit, especially after I was an hour late. We did a baby themed pub quiz style thing and it was a lot of fun.
So now tomorrow I go to my GP for my actual prenatal appiontment, and Im just waiting to see what measurement he comes up with.
