01-12-2009 - Kind of a crappy day

My mood while writing this blog:

So a kinda crappy afternoon/appointment... on our way out the door to the appointment my purse handle breaks, then on our way there we get into a right turn lane and this car who is at a dead stop pulls out RIGHT in front of us (a kid who was maybe around 16) and stops and we hit him (there was no way to stop), he was shaken up and his back passenger door was dented but that was about it, then when I got out of the car to join Kevin to see what was happening my foot sunk probably around 6" into the mud and I had to get Kevin to pull my shoe out... so I was late to my appointment, by probably about 20 minutes, which they still saw me, probably because of how far along I am, but we had to wait for-ev-er.

My weight has only gone up 1/2 a lb, my blood pressure is about the same as it has been, there was still some protein in my urine, but it was less than last time and my clean catch came back fine so the doctor decided not to make me do another one. Sarah's heart rate was about 160.

Now for the truly disappointing part... really no change in the dilation... so frustrating to me! I've been having so many cramps and contractions, I was sure something had to be happening. On the bright side I am 20% more effaced, which puts me about 70% effaced, which isn't bad, but I still wanted some more dilation... greedy me! :) She's still sitting high, but the doc says that that doesn't generally mean anything in a second baby, they often don't drop down till you're in labor. My doctor said I could be seeing her next week for my appointment or I could have Sarah tonight there's no way for her to say... I'm betting on the appointment... I think this kid is just too comfortable! lol!

You didn't tell me about the accident! That sucks! Are you guys ok? How fast were you going when you got in the accident? I'm sorry that you haven't progressed more.. At least you're more effaced! It'll probably happen quickly :-) She'll be here in no time sweetie! I am so excited to meet her! :-)

Wow honey, I'm so sorry about the accident! Was Bekah in the car too? Was it your van or the car? I hope you all are okay from it and the damage isn't too severe. That's NOT something you'd like to have to deal with right before having a baby. And as for progress, I know it's frustrating towards the end to not have much progress, bottom line is...once labor begins, things will progress much quicker. :-) And about the dropping, I don't think Daniel or Maddie dropped til labor...maybe a little, but nothing like Hannah did, so no worries there with Sarah. Bekah already blazed a trail for her, so she'll find her way out just fine! Want me to try to fix your purse handle? Amanda i am so sorry about your day that just sucks, I was disappointed also about my dialation and how far up she stayed. When I was induced with the last 2 they did not drop down until in labor. I know with Paityn I was a 4 after hours then it always goes fast for me after they break my water then she dropped so it took a while. Hang in there today has to be a better day> I kept telling mysely she has to come sometime I know it is getting hard waiting but hopefully soon.
