25-11-2009 - Another quick pregnancy update

My mood while writing this blog:
happy!

So I had my 38 week doctor's appointment (technically 37 and 5 days). I dropped another pound! I'm excited about that! My blood pressure was great, 112/70, and no swelling still. My fundal measurement was 37 1/2 weeks. I'm 2-3 cm dilated now and about 50% effaced... unfortunately she's still sitting high. So there is some progress. When I reminded my doctor that I had gotten stuck at "a loose 3 cm and 85% effaced" last time for 2 weeks she said that it isn't common.

I am positive for Group B Strep again, which isn't great, but not bad either. Doctor said we should head to the hospital as soon as I think I'm in labor though to make sure we have time to give me the penicillin since she said that second labors are often half the length of the first one so she's thinking it'll only be around 6 hours this time (here's hoping!).

I had some protein and bacteria in my urine today so I had to do a clean catch which took FOR-EV-ER... the lab was so slow. Now I'm just waiting to hear back on that.

The doctor estimated that she was on track to be about 8 1/2 lbs... when she asked how big Bekah was I told her about 8 1/2 lbs so she said that Sarah would probably be around the same, when I told her she had estimated Bekah at 7 1/2 lbs, and even on the day of delivery Dr. Frank had said not more than 7lbs 10 oz, she said well then Sarah may be bigger, she'd bet me a buck that Sarah will be well under 10lbs.. good news, but I was hoping she'd stick to in the 8lb range!

Oh, and on a side note: Bekah climbed up on the couch by herself for the first time tonight... and the second, and the third and the fourth... etc! My baby girl is getting so big!

So I think that's about it for now! I'll let you know if I have some more to update!
