12-2-2009 - Great News!!

My mood while writing this blog: Relieved!

So today was a big day for us.. We had our nuchal translucency test.. This test will give us a 90-95% accuracy for any chromosomal abnormalities. It is a 2 step process which included an ultrasound that measures the baby's fat around the neck area and a finger prick that will be sent to a lab. The ultrasound looked normal!! The doctor's seem to think we will have no issues.. Now we have to wait around 5 days to get the blood work results but as long as those tests come back normal we can really feel at ease that this baby does not have Trisomy 13 like Cody... We are scheduled to go back at 19 weeks for another ultrasound just to make sure the baby is growing the way it should. They can look at the heart, brain, etc.... Just goes to show that all our praying has paid off!! GOD is Good!!
