| 21-6-2010 - Amazing Updates | My mood while writing this blog:Overjoyed |
Two children are a lot harder than I ever imagined they would be. When my first was born I remember spending leisurly time laying with her on the couch, cuddling while watching TV and playing on the computer. Somehow I thought that I would be able to do that again with Austyn when she was born and I was WRONG! If Austyn doesn't need changed or fed Makenzey needs food or wants to play a game or read a book or has to be taken somewhere. I swear I haven't stopped running in the last 3 1/2 months!
AUSTYN
Austyn will be 4 months on Saturday and I am EXTACTIC!!! She is getting so big and I can't wait until her 4mo checkup to see how much she weighs now. She is now rolling well from her stomach to her back (although I'm still not entirely convinced it is on purpose because of the surprised look on her face) and has managed to get from back to stomach quite a few times. Most of those are when I place her facing away from the TV and she has to arch her back to see it (work with them, not against). Even without rolling she's been pushing herself across the floor and in circles since she was 2months! Only on her back but she gets those little legs a-moving and just won't stop! I love cuddling with her, and I'm proud to say we are STILL breastfeeding! I only made it 3wks with my first so I am very impressed with my abition and endurance :) We still have a couple formula bottles each day because my supply just doesn't keep up with her and pumping did not work very well for me. I still wonder how I can feed her completely but when pumping I can only get 2 ounces?? Ah well, I work on keeping my supply up and a couple ounces of formula if she isn't satisfied after the breast won't hurt her. She laughs and smiles and has an amazing sense of humor. She loves to fly and sit in the Jumperoo. She also sleeps through the night (since about 6-7wks) and goes down so easily right at 8pm even if we aren't at home. She wakes usually between 5&6am to eat and may or may not fall back to sleep until 8. We went through a rough patch around the 3mo mark where she started waking at 3am SCREAMING because she was hungry. After a week of that I started spoon-feeding cereal right before bed and like magic she slept through the night again. This child amazes me with how quickly she picks up a routine and if I wake her at one time she will do it again the next night! She is LOVING the cereal and laughs as soon as she sees the bowl and spoon. I know she is done when she starts spitting it back at me, and this child loves to spit! She'll be laying on the floor just spitting and talking and when I pick her up her whole front will be SOAKED! She thinks it is the funniest thing in the world so I know she is done eating when she starts playing with it and spitting :) My first never figured out how to spit so I didn't realize they could do it so young! Another difference between baby 1 and baby 2 is that Makenzey loved her swing from day 1 and wouldn't sleep in anything but. Austyn prefers the bouncy seat (which Makenzey never used) and barely tolerates the swing when nothing else will work. She'd much prefer to sleep in the bassinet or on my chest. I love watching her sleep and hearing the little noises she makes when she is happy. She really only cries if she is hungry, tired, or if sissy wasn't paying attention and fell on her head (unfortunately has happened more than once). I can't wait to find out what else this amazing little girl has in store for us!
MAKENZEY
She's 5 now, and boy is she proud of it! She graduated from preschool and is so looking forward to Kindergarten in the fall. She doesn't get the summer vacation thing and I think is going a little crazy at home. She's been through one session of VBS, and Safety Town through our local PD. She has 2 sessions of VBS left at 2 diff churches and also some bowling so that'll get us through the end of July hopefully. I really don't want to overwhelm her but this kid has to be active ALL the time! She is loving her baby sister more than I ever imagined she would. She's protective and loving and just doesn't understand that Austyn isn't going to be able to play tomorrow either! It's sweet how she wants to help so much, and is already talking about having another sibling (a boy this time apparently). That kind of freaks mommy out because I like the 5 year age difference. Some people like their kids closer in age and I have to give props to them because I couldn't do it! I want my babies to be babies and I would go crazy with two toddlers (Lord help me if I ever have twins).
THE REST
My weight loss goal is not being reached nearly as quick as I'd like and I've pretty much gone stagnent at 167lbs. :( I know I need to step it up a bit but I'm still in a fair amount of pain from the SPD during pregnancy. Had ANOTHER colposcopy last week and am still waiting on the results. Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing honestly because the previous ones I got called about within 2 days. She biopsied 5 different areas but luckily they don't hurt nearly as bad (or at all) when I'm not pregnant so I was not quite so upset. My house is going on the market July 1 and my husband is working his poor ass off trying to get it ready. I help where I can, but sometimes the best thing I can do is get the kids out of the house! It's hard because I can never get out by myself because I'm trying to feed the baby as much as possible without formula and if I leave without her he pretty much has to stop what he's doing because apparently "she cries when I'm gone" and "needs held" constantly, but I don't see this side of her, EVER. After the house sells we are packing up and moving to Florida and I'm super excited! I've lived in the midwest all my life and I can't wait to try something new, even if we don't last very long. My mom is pretty upset but if we don't go now we'll never know. So far I've managed to have the garage sale I've been planning for 5 years (which got rained out to boot) and dump the remaining stuff at Goodwill and my local Human Services building. Yay me! Anyway, I think this is long enough and I'm tired! It is after 11 so I will be up again in 7hours or less, I guess that isn't so bad ;)
