22-10-2009 - OMG!!!

My mood while writing this blog: outraged!!!

Ok so I know this has nothing to do with being pregnant but I had to get it off of my chest..so thanks in advance for letting me rant!!We have lived in this neighbor hood for over a year and a half. Recently we bought the house next door to the one we have been renting. On Sunday We were at the new house getting it ready to move things in. Well the kids were in and out of the house playing with the neighbor kids (wich shocked the crap out of me because NOONE here ever lets their kids out of the house!). 2 doors down from us is a family with 2 girls and 1 boy. The girls are your average pre-teens and the boy is around 10yrs old and has Downs Syndrome. They were outside and the boy saw us and came over and said hi. We said hi and talked to the boy, he was amazed by our Halloween decorations. Just minutes later his dad came walking over and told him it was time to come home. The boy insisted that he wasn't going until his dad said "we are going to Dairy Queen!" LOL!

Yesterday Bob (my husband) hired a few boys to help move the heavy stuff into the new house. So again Kaeli (our 3yr old) was in and out of the house and I was back and forth helping Bob. I also had a doctors appointment at 3. when Bob was through with me I came back to the new house and was fixing the Halloween decorations because the wind had blown them down. Well here once again comes this boy. He says to me "I'm at home all by myself" (Here I am thinking WTH!! who leaves their child with DS home alone!!). Kaeli says to him "Come play with me" so I allow him to go into the back yard with her and play. At this time it is getting close to time for me to leave and I wanted to take a shower but didnt want to leave Kaeli alone with this kid that I didnt know. So I leave the fron door open so that I can watch for his parents (because they had NO IDEA that he wasn't at home!!! ) and I sit where I can keep an eye on the kids. finally I have to go upstairs and get changed so I tell Kaeli "you two stay in the back yard, mommy has to go upstairs and change." Well after I get dressed I sit down on the side of the tub to rub lotion on my legs and look up to see this KID standing in MY ROOM!!! Thank goodness I was already dressed!! I still had time left before we had to leave but I was so freaked out that I got Kaeli (who was FILTHY and needed to change clothes and wash her face) and told the boy that we had to leave. I told Bob what happened before I left then took Kaeli to her Nanny (grandma) so I could go to my appointment.

Just a litle while ago I was sitting in the couch in just a T-SHIRT AND PANTIES beside Bob who was on the computer. We were talking about the dreaded BILLS!! LOL Well to our surpirse the door knob rattled and began to open. We werent expecting anyone!! I thought for a second "Maybe Teri (my husbands mom) came over" then I thought "No, she would have called 1st." WELL as the door swung open we see that it is that Boy!!! I was freaked out!!! Bob said to him "hey, your supposed to knock before you walk into someones house!" The boy looks at him and asks "can I come in" Bob says very calmly "No, our kids are sleeping (and they were) you need to go back home." So he said "ok" and closed the door behind him.

I CANT BELIEVE THAT THESE PEOPLE WOULD LEAVE THEIR DOWNS SYDNROME CHILD AT HOME ALONE!! BOB COULD HAVE HAD ONE OF HIS GUN OUT (HE HUNTS AND HAS SEVERAL GUNS FOR HUNTING) AND SHOT THE KID!! IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN I AM THINKING I WILL CALL CPS ON THEM...THAT IS CLEARLY NEGLECT!! NO CHILD SHOULD BE LEFT AT HOME ALONE ESPECIALLY ONE WITH PROBLEMS. HE MAY BE A HIGH FUNCTIONING DOWNS SYNDROME CHILD BUT IF HE KNEW BETTER (WICH A CHILD HIS AGE WITHOUT PROBLEMS WOULD!!) HE WOULD NOT HAVE JUST WALKED INTO A STRANGERS HOUSE!!! THIS REALLY DISTURBED ME!!! SO MUCH THAT I COULD NOT FALL ASLEEP (I WAS GOING TO TAKE A NAP). ALL I COULD THINK ABOUT WAS THAT BOY WALKING INTO OUR HOUSE AND ME SITTING ON OUR CHOUCH IN A T-SHIRT AND PANTIES!!!!

OK SORRY I HAD TO GET THAT OUT...IT WAS REALLY BUGGIN ME!
