I know the feeling, I recently found out that someone thought I was a teenager and when I was pregnant everyone would give me dirty looks guess I know why now.(Not completely the same but the assuming was) I like when people assume they know who you are and what you follow it allows you to have the upper hand on the situation. I really wouldn't worry about it too much she was a stranger and I am very sure you know who you are and so do your friends and family :)

ok so i understand exactly how you feel. i am constantly feeling a bit judged due to my religion, i grew up with the teachings of so many different religions and wow it had me so confused!!!! so i finally went and discovered a religion of my own, and since i have meet so many people that see me at first glance and try to "save" me from my horrible life as a wiccan. and in this day and age life is about being your self as long as you are happy. so do what you do and be happy.

Being stereotyped sucks! We don't call ourselves Christians. We don't go to church because it's filled w/ pagan traditions inherited by the Constantine the emperor of Rome. He got rid of all Messianic Jewish traditions and holidays. Easter is not a word in the bible. The Passover is, it's the death and resurrection. Easter is a Pagan God. Constantine was a worshiper of the pagan God Mithra, so he made Jesus's birthday Dec. 25th to please the Pagan's because that was Mithra's b-day. All Pagan Gods were born on Dec. 25th. He changed the day of worship to Sunday in honor of the Sun god. It's so post to be the Sabbath. Constantine started the Catholic church. The word Catholic means Universal. He wanted to mix both religions. He did a great job cause no body even questions the origins of all the traditions we follow. The Greeks translated the bible from Hebrew and changed Yeshua's named to Jesus. Because it sounds more like their pagan god Zeus. They called all their pagan gods christo (Christ) I'll stop now, but this is why I don't call my self a Christian.

LOL. So many people take it upon them selves to tell everyone else how to live their lives but they have yet to look at their own lives and reconsider how they live! The same thing happened to me when I left my exhusband and was basically outcast from the church I went to. So now I don't go anywhere!

If people want saving they ask "their savior" for it we dont need another PERSON to do it for us, let alone why do people think that shoving a bible or "your going to burn in hell" is going to make anyone want to beleive in God -- blows my mind .. I am not a christian I am a believer in God -- I dont want to be associated with these "richous people anymore" they are better and judge sinners bs. Its makes my skin boil -- Read the book the SHACK theshackbook.com it is amazing if you like to read. =) Sorry started ranting my self.

I am I guess what u call a " religiuos person". I am sorry that this happened. I think that some don't approach those situations gracefully. It should never be condeming, but more of a friend telling a freind about something really neat. I want to say that not all belivers in God are that way. I love every one and i think that is what God wants . I still have my beliefs , but that doesn't mean that I cant be a friend to any one , or show them love. Again sorry this happened and that it upset you. Just wanted you to here from someone that not all religious people are that way.

gosh overly religious people are SO annoying!!! and RUDE. we recently had to post a 'no solicitors' sign on our front door bc the mormans, LDS, and jehovahs witness would NOT leave us alone. if they are so happy really walking around to countless doors, fine, but they dont need to come here and bother me and push their views on other people like that.

Hey girl I know exactly how you feel. I am the exact same way.. very open and accepting of everyone, and it really upsets me when people judge me for me and my husband having tattoos.. especially since were trying to find a new church home and most of these places just look at us like we didnt belong.. like bc of the tats.. were devil worshipers or something. Its like weve been to so many like that that we dont even want to go anymore, and thats sad. Blah. Whatever. You did the right thing by walking away today.. but i would have been really pissed too. Sorry. Thats no fun.

I love to shock these people, all I ask is where would my non-verbal autistic daughter fit into your church. They just drop their jaws. We all know that it would be very difficult for my 6 and a half year old daughter to attend church with her tantrums. So I ask them what would they recommend? It is kind of funny but still very real to us. I am catholic as you are I just don't know if even they have room or tolerance for my little girl. So I pray all on my own.

I totally understand your frustrations....my stepson has been getting teased on the bus because he (we) are not religious. It has made him (and preggo me) SO upset that ANYONE would tease him for his, or his family's beliefs. He has never thought twice about anyone elses beliefs, and has ALL sorts of friends. Furthermore, he would never judge anyone like he is getting judged. I just don't get it...

I've had that happen in the parking lot of a chinese restuarant, we we're eating in there and this lady kept looking at us and when we left she ran out to the parking lot to talk to us. I assumed it was either because my hubby and I are both covered in tattoos or because I looked so young and have a baby. If I we're you I would have slapped that girl lol

I am probably one of THE MOST open minded people you will ever meet. I don't care what religion you are, what color you are, if your gay, straight, bi or pan, ,fat, tall short...BE WHAT YOU ARE.......just don't judge me for being who I am!!!
I went to the store with my family today to buy treats for Keiley's class since her birthday is TODAY!! (YAY!) We were just walking around minding our business and some lady walks up to Shawn and I and said, " you have beautiful children....I am from The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints and I am here to show you how you can save yourself and see your children and be with your family for eternity."
Shawn turned and said "my parents are LDS...and I am recovering and walked away." I simply put a smile on my face and said, " I am Catholic, Thank you though."
Inside I was SOOOOOO mad!!!!! The things I wanted to say to her!!! AAAHHHH!! More than half of my family is LDS and they have NEVER ONCE EVER EVER told me I wasn't going to heaven because I am catholic. What made that lady think we needed "saving" anyways!! Our tattoos? That is the ONLY thing I could possibly think of! I am so offended and angry.
I think it is WONDERFUL to believe what you believe with your whole heart, but don't try to get me to go against MY believes because YOU feel they are wrong!! How would she have felt if I said....." no no, let me SAVE YOU so that you can be with YOUR family in heaven." She wouldn't have had it and neither did I!!!!
I have friends and family of all races, religions, sexual orientations, cultures ETC, and I love and respect each and every one of them for who they are. It's a shame some people close themselves off so much. I feel like she is missing out on so many wonderful people because she feels they..(we)..are sinners and are "no good". Well I am so sorry for the rant, I just REALLY had to get that off my chest! :) GOOD NIGHT!

I also kinda peed myself a little when I threw up today which kinda pissed me off too HAHA! (that was more for comic relief...lol)
