15-3-2010 - 36 weeks appt: don\'t know what I am more upset about! :(

My mood while writing this blog:

Well I just got back from my Dr. appt and I am a little upset. This ENTIRE pregnancy my due date has been April 9th, right? Well today he decided that he would feel more comfortable having my due date be the date that is based off my last period instead of the date they bumped me to when I had my first ultrasound at 11 weeks based on the baby's measurements. GRANTED it's only 3 days difference so instead of the 9th it's the 12th......but when you are pregnant and ESPECIALLY when you are this far along EVERY day counts! So I guess today instead of me being 36 weeks 3 days I am JUST 36 weeks. I know it sounds silly but I am REALLY mad about it! HE had my hopes up that if my body had progressed he would sweep me today...but now I am just "a little too early".

Which brings me to my next upset. I AM ONLY 1...YES 1 CM DILATED and 0% EFFACED!!!!! >( I guess I can't be TOO upset since I am "only 36 weeks" BUT I AM!!! I think I just expected things to go alot different today than they did. Shawn and I are going to go on a LONG walk today to see if anything will progress a bit. I have been having crazy BH contractions and have just felt like my body was ready.....I feel like someone is playing a trick on me! Oh well I will get over it. He will be here before I know it and then I know I will wish he was back in my belly. SO maybe I just need to look at the bright side...I have atleast another week with my little boy all to myself. :) I hope you ladies have a great day ( or evening!)

I'm sure th enext week will DRAG!!!!! I remember very well what that's like. Hopefully not though...and at least you don't have another 9 weeks like me...

Awww hun im sorry. Dont be in such a rush for little charlie to come. its better that he goes as close to 40wks as possible so that his perfect little brain can develop more. think of the positive !!! he'll be here soon and then you'll miss him moving around in ur tummy. so cherish this time now :) xoxo

it suxks to be told you will have to wait longer before you get to see your baby, but he will come when he is ready not when you are. i hate when i am told that so i know its not what you wanna hear, and im sure you are told that alot. but walking is good for when you do go into labor, it should help your labor a whole lot. so keep up the walking and being active, also you should try to hold baby in for a couple more weeks then when you get close have sex, the sprem is natural at softening the cervix and will help you go into labor

I'm 38 weeks and 2 days and today i was told I'm at 0 cm, yes zero everything! Apparently I have a cervix of STEEL!!

I don't know what to say Ashes, I haven't lived your pregnancy...but I do know that the most important thing is the safety and health of your baby. I have been prego 3 times and the last 2 I had to go past my due date. Hang in there, you won't be pregnant forever.

That would irritate me too, at my u/s at 31 weeks she was measuring 5lbs 4oz and almost 35 weeks. Which would put her due date according to her growth at April 7th, bu I think their keeping my due date at April 25th, I'm gonna have another u/s to check her growth soon. I can't wait to see what she weighs..I may be further along..I guess I'll have to wait and see. Well maybe your little one will come earlier anyway..I hope I don't go past my due date. I'd be upset too!! Im actually surprised he changed your due date so late!! That just doesnt make since. Im "almost a 1cm" and i'll be 37 weeks wed. so were pretty much the same lol!

Hey, I'm 38 weeks and 3 days and only half a cm :P Don't feel bad. But look on the bright side, if half a cm is enough to do a sweep on me, then 1cm is definitely enough for if you want them to try a sweep on you :)

wow thats messed up that he would push your due date back to the regular due date that u had before..i wouldnt do anything yet to get him out yet..just wait till u are 37wks and do all u can do to get him out..if u want..

I know you must be disappointed b/c you are excited to meet your little guy, but just let nature take its course and he will be here soon enough. My sister had her baby at 36 weeks and he had to be in NICU with issues and it was so hard, so think of it as a good thing that your little bubs wants to cook some more just to make sure everything is ready.
