My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
So i was at walmart and went to get a drink and i slipped and fell in a huge puddle of water coming out of a starbucks machine, I did a split kinda and landed hard on my back and side, the cashier just looked at me and kept on ringing someone up! I couldnt believe it, My leg was hurting, I was covered in water and so embarrassed! i got myself up and hobble to my friend, who was on the phone and didnt see it happen. Well a walmart employee had saw it b.c someone stuffed papertowels and a half put up wet floor sign on the other side if the machine but damn water was coming from all 3 sides not just that one and the papertowels were SOAKED clearly it had been a while. So i told a manger and she saw the water and i filled out an accident report, and went to the er and got a real bitch of a dr,she said i can give you tyelonol but that's it and acted like i was stupid for coming in, I was like can u check the heartbeat, i landed hard and was scared, she sent me home saying i have a lumbar spine strain and a myofasical strain or something like that idk how to spell it ,walmart called me today to ask if i wanted to file a claim i was like yes i need u to pay my er and dr bill well they said they needed a recorded interview with me, i was like not now and set it up for tues. I am going to ask my friend who is a lawyer b/c i know they are going to try and get out of paying it, my back hurts so bad, i cant pick up my son but they cant do x-rays, what should i do?

Wednesday, 12 Aug honey i used to work for walmart and my my soon to be ex hubby is a manager at our local walmart. the only way to make sure they pay is keep on them. dont let them give you any crap about it. call your ob and get in to see her tell them that you are still having pain and you are concerned about baby. they shouldnt have a problem seeing you and it shows intent that you are looking out for your baby. when i worked there we had like 10-20 people a day claim injuries which is why their is so many steps. once they read your docs and the er reports and look at the videos they will see that it wasnt intentional and take care of the bill. but you have to stay on it. i was hurt while working and had to go through the same rigorous routine as they are very cautious. i had three er visits before the actually believed that i was seriously injured. once they sent me to a specialist they found a hairline fracture which is what was causing my pain. hope it gets better for you and just dont give in keep persuing that they pay your medical bills. denise t -
Wednesday, 12 Aug well, hope this eases your mind- I fell last pregnancy and still have the scars from it. I took a good hard fall and the baby was fine. It is so well protected in there so even though you may have some aches and pains (I couldn't walk for 2-3 days after my fall) your baby is fine and probably didn't even notice anything. If you haven't already been bleeding heavily afterward then don't stress about the baby. But, I would be persistent with having WalMart pay your bill. sirat -

Wednesday, 12 Aug I'm sorry for what your going thru, and YES they can do Xrays if it's needed, and if it's an emergency. They can also SAFELY give you something for the pain other than tylenol, I should know because I'm under the care of a high risk perinatologist and have a back injury requiring pain medication.Go to your OBGYNs office and ask about it there, explain that your in severe pain. Also, Depending on your hospital the ER should've sent you to labor and delivery, not just the ER. Your what, 22-23 w?DEFINITELY Sue walmart, and make sure they do more than just pay your doctor bills and stuff. You are PREGNANT and the fall could've led to something that can be long lasting and require much more than just a doctor visit. i'm not normally one to say "sue, sue" but in this case you need to. What if you injured your back bad enough to need help from a caregiver or something with your kids for a little while??Good luck! Walmart customer service SUCKS. They saw me lugging out a heavy bag of dogfood recently, and i am obviously pregnant and no one offered to help! MamaCas29 -
Wednesday, 12 Aug I'm sorry you fell, and I hope wal-mart pays for your dr. bill. I also hope you didn't hurt yourself too bad. Falling like that when your joints and everything are so loose can make you really sore. I hope all goes well. Julianna -
Wednesday, 12 Aug I work for a medical insurance company and I know that Wal-Mart does not pay medical claims up front. They need to determine if they are liable or not and that is why they are asking for a recorded interview. Sounds like they do bear the liability since the floor was wet & it wasn't marked. If it were marked then they could probably get out of it, but I don't think they can on this one.
