| 28-9-2008 - I’ve been hospitalized... | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
Well my ultrasound on Thursday did not go so well. It showed the baby has had zero growth since the last one, two weeks prior. He basically stopped growing at 28 weeks even though I’m in week 32. My peri admitted me to the hospital after letting me go home to pack a bag. He talked with my OB and they decided my case would be fully turned over to my peri.
Although the ultrasound showed good blood flow and good fluid levels they think my placenta is not working properly. The baby is not getting enough nutrients and hence isn’t growing as he should be.
I’ve already had the two steroid shots to speed up the lung (and other organs) development. They hook me up to a monitor for an hour+, 3 times a day to monitor the baby’s heart and any contractions. I haven’t been contracting and so far the baby’s heart has been good. I will have another ultrasound next Thursday, but they will not be able to check for grown, as to get accurate results that can only be done once every two weeks. They will check the fluids and dopler again. Then I guess the following Thursday they will check for growth, if there is some they will stretch out my pregnancy if not they will deliver him.
It’s been a pretty emotional several days while I’m adjusting to my new life of bedrest in the hospital. Where I will be until the baby is delivered.
>>> Just wanted to thank you all for all the reasuring words and kind thoughts! I'll be updating this blog as I learn more about what's going on. THANK YOU GIRLS!!! <<<
>>>>>>> 10/12/08 ---- I'm still at the hospital, it's been tough. 2 weeks + 3 days and counting. I'm scheduled for a c-section on Thursday 10/16. At last Thursdays growth check it was shown that the baby only grew one week in two weeks, so they decided it will be better to take him out. They did an amnio and it showed the lungs are not yet mature, so they want to stretch out my pregnancy till 35 weeks. They still have no clue what could be causing this as all the testing has been coming back normal. At least he is 3 lbs now and hopefully will gain a bit more weight by Thursday. Being in the hospital this long for no appearant reason has been the hardest thing ever. I can't wait for all this to end. <<<<<<<<<<<
