| 07-2-2010 - The Best Days of Your Life | My mood while writing this blog:Convicted |
How much of mothering we miss because our focus is simply on surviving! We ast as though the business of raising children is simply something we must get through before we tackle the really important stuff of life. Sure, we all seethe at well-intended advice from kindly grandmothers in grocery stores who tell us (as we wrestle with three cranky kids in the checkout line), "These are the best days of your life! Enjoy them because they pass so quickly!"
"Not quickly enough," we mutter under our breath.
But these women do have a point - one that comes with the wisdom of their years. The stage of mothering you children is a stage. It only feels like an era! And it will pass. It will not last forever. It will end one day.
Gold loses it's luster and becomes dull. But investing in the life of a child is an investment that will last forever. Make the most of life's irretrievable moments - now.
Lamentations 4:1
Matthew 6:33
1 John 2:17
This is a devotion from my devotional Bible that really spoke to me and I thought I'd share it. Too often I get caught up in things of little worth and time is flying by. As I lay down for the night I want to be able to think back on the day and know that I spent my time wisely and that my attitude with my children was a good one!
