01-6-2009 - Broken Foot Update depressed, discouraged and overwhelmedMy mood while writing this blog:
depressed, discouraged and overwhelmed

It is hard to even write this......

I was at the bone doctor today and things are not looking to great. The breaks in my foot are bad, but in good position. I have to keep the splint on because he doesn't want to put a cast on for fear that because I am pregnant I will get swelly and have to have the cast cut off before it is time. So I can not put any weight on it for atleast 6 weeks maybe more. I am having the baby in about 3 and a half weeks. I don't know what I'm going to do......I'm not going to be able to walk after having my c-section because I won't be able to use crutches and hop with my big incision. I feel so discouraged......

I'm also so afraid of hurting my foot and making the break worse. The doctor says if it gets worse of comes out of position it will require surgery. I feel so worried :(

couldnt they at least put you in a boot? that way if you do get swollen you can take it off...but at the same time that would help to keep your foot in ONE position...

Just try to get someone to help you out. It will be hard. Good luck with it. I'm sorry you had to go through this. Just be careful and take care of yourself :-)

Thats not good at all! I hope things do work out though.

Do you have someone who can stay with you to help out until the baby is born? Maybe they will keep you in the hospital a little longer if you can't use crutches. Even though staying in the hospital isn't a lot of fun it might be helpful for getting some extra rest after the c-section.
