29-12-2009 - First appointment

My mood while writing this blog: pissed

I went to my first appointment this afternoon. They decided NOT to do an ultrasound, which they did do with Cooper when I wasn't even 6 weeks along yet! I didn't even get to see the doctor. They drew my progesterone and HcG levels and I am supposed to call them first thing in the morning to find out the results. Then I will repeat those labs. Then if everything proves I am pregnant bloodwork-wise, I will get to have my real appointment with the doctor and an ultrasound within the next 2 weeks.

I just don't get it. Last time they did ALL of this on my very first visit. I explained to them over and over that I am 8 weeks long, and they insisted that this is just how they do it now. If my baby's heart is beating, it would show up easily on an ultrasound right now, and they won't let me have one. UGH!!! I'm so disappointed. Oh well. I hope everything looks good with the blood work.

In the meantime, this pregnancy is SO DIFFERENT from Cooper's already. With him, I just threw up all the time. Now, I am not throwing up, I am just a new level of TIRED. The kind of tired that can only be brought on by a severe form of the flu, not sleeping in weeks...or pregnancy. My boobs are not sore. (But boobs that are already giant tend to not get as sore as those of you with itty titties.) I have a slight, but constant, headache. I also have the slight crampy sensations with everything stretching out.

Anyway, I will update on here probably daily. It's a great way to journal my whole pregnancy. I hope everyone is doing great with their pregnancies and/or babies!!
