24-10-2008 - 3rd trimester with logan

My mood while writing this blog: happy

7/28/08 Doctors appointment today....Gained 18 lbs total and belly is measuring right on track. Supposed to get my glucose test done this week; got the lab order for it to go to the hospital. Think I'll go Wednesday (30th). Still want to do the hospital tour (not doing childbirth classes) and need to do the pediatrician interview. Always seems like so much to do! Made some progress on the nursery. Its all painted, most of the border is up, and the crib, dresser and rocker are in there.

8/1/08 Went for my GD test. My drink tasted like flat sprite; not bad at all. The sitting there for an hour sucked. I read a book, but they make the seats so uncomfortable! Hope I passed!!

8/5/08 I was very very stressed out by my family, and this caused my usual quiet Logan to go nuts all day. He was kicking so much and so hard that it hurt at times. I usually don't feel him very much at all. But it was kind of nice because Mike got to feel him kicking for quite a long time....he'd only felt him once before!!

8/12/08 Found out I failed my glucose test. Kind of angry it took my doc so long to tell me about this! I'm going on the 16th for the 3 hour test. (did pass my 3 hour...see blog)

8/14/08 Doctor's appointment. I'm measuring right on target. Logan is head down. And only gained 1 lb since last appointment, so up a total of 19 lbs now.

9/5/08 Doctors appointment was another short one. My belly measures perfectly at 34 weeks and my blood pressure was perfect. Gained 6 lbs the past 3 weeks...so up 25 lbs total...that shocks me! Go back the 15th for the strep B test...so not excited about that! lol. Logan has been squirming around alot these days; kind of hurts sometimes. I dropped about a week ago, so getting quite a bit of pressure down there and my poor bladder is not doing so good!

9/15/08 Doctors appointment....had the strep B test. Was super quick and painless, but kind of weird! I'm now up 28 lbs. Belly measures on target, blood pressure good, and Logan's heartbeat good. Doc said my swelling was a 5 on a 1-10 scale, so have to keep on eye on that. And got my list of labor instructions!! Hubby and I are sooo sick of my doctor though. She was so great in the beginning, but now the ridiculous long waits to see her are on our last nerve. And once we finally get to see her, she barely spends any time with us. Thankful for this website...I wouldn't know squat without it!!

9/19/08 I really hope Logan comes on his own....no induction needed. Just really realized how much I want that 'surprise' of labor. Which really shocks me cause I usually hate surprises! And I'm hoping he wants to surprise me in the next 2 weeks!! :)

9/23/08 We did our hospital tour yesterday. It is so nice there! I got quite excited. The rooms look more like hotel rooms, so maybe I won't freak out about being stuck in the hospital. :)
Getting so friggin' sick of people asking me when I'm having Logan and asking when I'm being induced. I still have 3 weeks till my due date! And why do they assume every woman is induced?! And there is the occasional person who insists I'll have a c-section...I have no idea why. ARGH.

9/29/08 Doctors appointment today...my Strep B test was negative. Only gained 1 lb these past 2 weeks! Belly measuring fine, blood pressure good, and Logan's heartbeat good! She said my cramps were practice contractions. And the pinching/stabbing pain I get in my pelvis is my pelvis bone splitting in preparation for Logan's birth. Didn't check for dilation yet.

10/6/08 Doctors today...My doctor said if Logan doesn't arrive on his own by my due date, she will induce me sometime that week after. Logans heartbeat is in the 140s, and my belly measurement and blood pressure are good! Gained 2 lbs this past week....now up 31 lbs total. And doctor didn't check for dilation since I have not had any contractions. Nursery is 100% complete now...sooo happy about that!! Can't wait to use it! The changing table my husband made looks beautiful. I feel so miserable and can't wait for Logan's arrival, but now the fear of labor is really starting to set in!

10/13/08 Doctors appointment....Logan is still not fully engaged. And doctor guesses I have at least another week. argh. That is just a guess, so I haven't given up all hope yet though! And as of now, we're waiting till 41 weeks for induction. Gained 33 pounds now. Feel sooo sickly and exhausted lately. One good nights sleep would be sooo nice. Don't think thats ever going to happen.
