| 28-4-2009 - PIERCED EARS QUESTION! |
My mood while writing this blog: Curious! |
Hello Ladies
I was wondering for those of you that have gotten you baby ears pierced, I have a few questions. How old were they when you got their ears pierced, and what was their reactions in the days to follow. Did you take care of them in a special way. I am planning on getting, Muffin's ears pierced Saturday and I am rather nervous..so ANY and ALL information that can be given to me I greatly appreciate it!

Monday, 11 May I know im probably late on this but i just seen it, i would if i were you wait until she can make that decision herself. thats what im doing with little bannah even though people keep wanting to take her to get her ears pierced. i mean after all you are putting holes in her ears, let make the decision herself when shes old enough chary83 -
Tuesday, 5 May I got my daughters ears pierced at 2 months and she had no reaction afterwards. I just cleaned them everyday with some alcohol wipes the doctor gave me. momma nesa -
Wednesday, 29 Apr I waited until my daughter was old enough to ask for them done, and then waited a few more months and bought a gun and did it myself ( i use to pierce ears). I wanted to make sure she understood that yes it was going to hurt and how I would have to clean them everyday. I think a little person should be the one to make the pierced ears decision, but if you have your heart set on piercing a babies ears I would talk to her pediatrician, some will do it in their offices, its much safer. The guns used in piercing places are rarely cleaned and although its the earring that pierces the ear its still not as sanitary as you may think because of blood splatter on the gun itself. Do your research before you decide to do this. Good luck and muffin is adorable! Miasmummy01 -
Wednesday, 29 Apr Oh, please please don't get them pierced, poor little thing, I think babies are beautiful enough, without bits of metal stuck in their ears, why oh why put them through the pain - and then they have to sleep on them, I think you should wait until she is older & let her decide to have it done herself.
Sorry if I sound harsh, but I think it is very very crawl.& it looks horrible x dkb -
Tuesday, 28 Apr Mari's ears were pierced at 2 months.. the younger the better. I haven't read the other comments so I don't know if this has been said.. but find a place that has TWO people working. That way both ears will be pierced at the same time... single impact instead of double. After that it's just important to keep them clean (they will give you solution) and turn the earrings often. Don't work.. my girl (and all of my nieces) did very well.. a little squeal then on with their happy and peaceful lives! takia24 -

Tuesday, 28 Apr Both of my girls got their ears pierced around two months old. they cried for like 10 secondes that set. The place(Piercing Pagola at the mall) where we went gave us a special solution to clean them . they will also explain to you how often to do it . prettybrowngirl -
Tuesday, 28 Apr I use to actually pierce babies ears!!!! I would honestly see if the hospital does it( some do) but if she has her current shots - She should be good also, dont let two ppl do it at once!!!!!!! if she flinch one may misfire! and un even holes.... hmmm also try a claires in your mall believe or not they are good.... and also THEY GIVE YOU THE RIGHT SOLUTION! you should never clean piercings with alcohol.. only with the saline cleaning solution - alcochol can strip the metal and heal into the skin and cause infection - which can cause keloids... lol i cant think of anything else but if you have any questions..... you know how to get me! tasha1977 -
Tuesday, 28 Apr I got my daughter's ears pierced when she was 4 months old. I wasn't nervous, just couldn't find the time to get it done. I just used the solution they gave me twice a day and twisted her earrings so hey would heal properly. Now she has in hoops, but that was 7 month ago. They healed perfectly. Anesha -
Tuesday, 28 Apr I got my daughters ears pierced at 4 months as well. She had just gotten her 2nd dose of shots. She cried for about 5 seconds and that was it. They give you cleanser for the ears and I used it daily to sanitize them. That was about all.
