| 29-11-2008 - 4th Midwife Appt (25 weeks) | My mood while writing this blog:Happy but achy! |
I had my 25 week appointment with the Midwife last Monday. It wasn't my usual Midwife but a lady that I worked with when I was on a student placement last year. She burst out laughing when I walked through the door..especially when she remembered that when I last saw her I joked about how the only reason that I'd see her again is if I got pregnant in the year. Oh dear. She also had a giggle because I visited an antenatal class with her whilst on placement + found myself watching a birthing video + telling the women that they couldn't escape that experience now. Funny how things turn out..
Anyway, I blab. She took my tummy measurements - 26cm + said I was growing nicely, which is a relief because I didn't feel like I was changing at all! Listened to baby's heartbeat + it was racing between 130-150bpm + she commented that he/she sounded like a happy little baby, if that's even possible! Baby is lying transverse at the moment, which explains why I keep getting kicked in the bladder but also a lot of movement happens at the very top of my tum!
Picked up my MatB1 form so now I have to get around to sending that into Uni - have finished my 4th practice placement with the Health Visitors and School Nurses yesterday- just 6 more lectures before I start my maternity leave on the 26th January! Very scary thought. I have my antenatal classes booked up - four 2 1/2 hour sessions throughout Jan, can't wait..Yay for breathing exercises!
Next Midwife appointment will be at 28 weeks when I have to have yukky blood tests :( Oh well..time is flying so I won't complain!
Hope everyone and their babies are doing well.
