| 13-2-2009 - 8th Midwife Appt + ?Breech - ?C-section (36 weeks) | My mood while writing this blog:Nervous |
I had my 36 week check up with the Midwife on Monday 9th..Have been away visiting family so this has been the first chance I've had to blog it up! Baby's heart rate was 140-148 + he/she was wiggling about while the Midwife was doing her checks, cheeky rascal. My belly is measuring at 37cm now but she still can't work out which way Fig is lying! So I’m being sent for a Presentation Scan on the Maternity Ward on Monday (16th) to find out if baby is head or arse down. If the baby is found to be breech my options are to either let a Doctor attempt to turn him/her OR just opt for an elective C-section. Problem is, if the baby did get turned successfully, I still wouldn’t be allowed to give birth at the Midwife-led Unit as I had been hoping. Breech = Consultant-led Unit. In which case, I think I’ll go for the elective C-section. I have the option of being able to go back to the Midwife-led Unit for aftercare so my way of thinking is the less time I have to spend in the City Hospital, the better. But anyway, baby may well be head down + I could be getting way ahead of myself! Just hoping so much that Fig is hanging out the right way! I feel hiccups really low down so I’m hopeful that he/she is.
Anyway, sorry for blabbing on for so long! I have my scan at 10am on Monday morning so will be online in the afternoon to let you know what happened.
Hope you and your bumps + babies are all well.
Take care
