23-2-2009 - 9th Midwife Appt (38 weeks)

My mood while writing this blog: Excited

Just got back from my Midwife appointment and it was a good'un! I'm measuring 36cm, which means I've definitely dropped cos I'm going backwards now! Baby's heartrate was 130-140 + he/she is engaged and 2/5ths palpable! Midwife hinted that she didn't expect to see me for my 40 week appointment on the 9th March + is hopeful that I'll deliver a little earlier..which has pleased me lots as my original due date was the 24th February, before scans moved me back!! Had bloods taken to check my iron levels..Hopefully they will be high enough for me to definitely deliver at the Midwife-led Unit :)

Also got the pram/pushchair + car seat yesterday - went with the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette + couldn't be happier with it! It's all starting to feel a bit more real now.

I was thrown a party by some friends last night. Thought I was heading round with James to a couple that we're mates with for some Chinese food but when I arrived, there were 'Congratulations' banners, a room full of our friends + plenty of grub. Was a lovely surprise as baby showers aren't a regular occurance in the UK! We were given lots of great presents, including a baby gym, keepsake box, a baby sling (bought by 2 of our blokie mates (rugby players)..I can only imagine how funny they looked in Babies 'R' Us!), some clothes, blankets, gift cards + a Fig-scented candle..Bless 'em!

Anyway, I think I've gone on enough..
