My mood while writing this blog: Shattered but in Love!

BOY!!!

(So LOADS of you guessed right!)

I had him a week early to the day (1st March 2009) at 3.55pm, weighing in at 3.4kg (7lb 8oz)! We have named him Benjamin William. I ended up having him in the Midwife-led Unit, as I had originally planned - will explain how that happened in my birth story! I decided to stay in the Unit for 3 nights to get breastfeeding established (I had NO idea how much babies ruin nipples!!), it seems to be going reasonably well so far. We were discharged from the Unit yesterday afternoon. He's looking a little jaundiced but the Midwives said that as long as he is waking regularly for feeds and producing plenty of wet and dirty nappies, he should get over it without needing phototherapy. They should be visiting later to see how he is doing, so I'm hoping they'll be happy with his progress!

I will get some pictures uploaded soon but at the moment I'm attempting to sort out the mess we have made in less than 24 hours!

I have so many blogs and messages to read - I can't wait to find out who has had their babies over the last few days! Congrats to those that have given birth and Good Luck to all of the Mummies-to-be!

Thank you all for the support, advice and laughs over the last 9 months - I already miss being pregnant a little bit - but cannot wait to go through the journey of Motherhood!
