20-4-2009 - 6-8 week check-up HappyMy mood while writing this blog:
Happy

I took Ben to the Doctors for our 6-8 week check-up this morning. I wasn't sure what to expect.. It seemed that she just wanted to know if I was coping, both physically and emotionally. I explained that the thrush on Ben's tongue STILL hasn't cleared up + it continues to affect breastfeeding as my nips are soooooo sore!!! Although the last few days, I have been able to focus on TV programmes I'm watching rather than the pain. Hopefully that's a good sign. She has switched our medication from Daktarin to Nystatin so fingers crossed that will clear us both up!

She checked Ben's development so far + said that she was very happy with his progress. He's so strong. He was holding his head up pretty well from day one but now he has a good look around + tummy time is so funny - I can see him beginning to crawl in no time!! Eeek!! I was walking at 9 months so maybe Ben will follow in my footsteps! I better get baby-proofing!

Oh I've also decided to go on the mini-pill. I didn't fancy any of the more long-term contraceptives..Don't get me wrong, I'm in no hurry to have any more (especially as I'm still living with my parents!!) I just don't like the idea of them personally. I'm hoping I won't get too many side-effects. When I was on the combined pill I bloated out + looked terrible!! That was why I stopped taking it, which resulted in the arrival of my beautiful baby boy..so I can't complain too much!

Hope everyone is alright + enjoying motherhood / pregnancy!

He is gorgeous hon. I'm just about to put some more photos up of our little Isabella. I go for her 6 week check up next week. Fingers crossed all is well. Seems to going well anyway. Breast Feeding has been going really well and she seems to really enjoy it (going by the grunts and sighs during a normal feeding session!) Glad to hear you're doing well - hope the thrush clears up soon so you can totally enjoy your little man's feeding times. xxx

So his jaundice has cleared up? That's great! My doctor laughed at me when I told her I didn't want to go on any form of birth control. She said it wasn't an option in her computer lol Happy to hear you both are doing well!!!
