My mood while writing this blog: Tired! |
Okay so so far I have gained 3.5 pounds and I am 10 weeks and 1 day. I have eaten like a cow. Portions are a little less cause I get full faster but I am hungry like an hour later. I am really worried because I dont want to gain a lot of weight cause I am over weight to begin with. I am just wondering is there control for anyone else? I dont have control if I want something I have to have it! The other problem is if I don't eat when I fell I need to then I feel sick for hours!
Now I am 23 weeks and have officially gained 15 pounds! I thought it was bad then??? Oh brother! I hear the pounds are going to pile on now! Very scary, I can't really do much but try and eat healthy... The last think I need to do is gain weight!! Ughhhhhhhhh

Friday, 17 Oct Everyone is different, and 3.5 pounds is nothing. I think ronni was right. Eat what you want but if you want a sandwhich and something else for lunch...only eat half of each. Just because you have a baby you are really only suppose to have 300 extra calories a day. That's not a lot. I gained 75lbs with first pregnancy because I ate whatever I want, it sucked to loose that weight I'm not going to lie. But you haven't gained too much, you will be fine! Just don't indulge, and stop eating before you are full and you'll be fine! ronni -
Friday, 17 Oct Here's a trick I use..If you want something, eat it, but not the whole thing. Especially sweets. I try and keep mini size candy bars around the house, or cheesecake samplers, something that will give you a little bit of what you crave, without eating the whole cheesecake!! Also, try and watch your sodium. If you eat relatively healthy, you can eat pretty much what you want, but the sodium content will add water weight and leave you feeling bloated. LOTS and LOTS of fruit or raw vegetables...They are good for you and the fiber content will help make you feel fuller. I have a pretty healthy diet, & I am very into nutrition, but I'm not a diet freak. I just limit my sugar, salt and fats, but when I want ice cream, I EAT IT..I just put it in a coffee cup instead of a bowl.......Go ahead, enjoy eating, but if you can limit your portions, not so much WHAT your eating, it can make a huge difference!! agatamay13 -
Friday, 17 Oct Well I can understand because I am not sick at all and just hungry all the time. And when I am not hungry I still feel like eating! we are the same due date and I have already gained about 8-10 lbs...... don't feel too bad about gaining weight, 3 lbs is not that much, just try to eat stuff that doesnt have a lot of calories (I know, it's hard to do for me that's for sure) proudmommyof3♥ -
Thursday, 16 Oct Totally understand! I started this pregnancy a bit overweight also and I have a goal of not gaining too much as I had with my first two pregnancies (between 50 & 60 with my other 2) and although weight gain is inevitable, it's scary! I am the same way, hungry all the time it seems and I can feel full but not for very long? I can admit I can be compulsive... if it sounds good and I want it then I HAVE to have it!!! I have no tricks, gosh I wish I knew... I understand the feeling sick if you feel hungry and don't eat! I've gained 7 lbs' and I'm only 11 weeks & 4 days......Pregnacy is a crazy time for your body and brain I suppose but just know I understand completely! Mother of Mi Raye of Light -
Thursday, 16 Oct Whenever you're hungry, eat. You have to, because you don't want that sick feeling. It's terrible. Luckily for you, you're able to eat. At 10 weeks, I couldn't eat anything. I'd be hungry all the time but anything I ate made me sick and when I didn't eat or get full, I'd still be sick. Once you get into your second trimester which isn't too far from now you should be able to control your appetite a lot better. In my first tri, I lost about 7 lbs and I've just gained it back in the past month. The doctor will tell you if you should be concerned about your weight gain and if he/she doesn't, ask them if you're that much concerned about it. katesmommy -
Thursday, 16 Oct Don't worry about your weight gain. Eat healthy and get some form of exercise. I enjoy walking. I began my pregnancy over weight and luckily have only put on 21 lbs (so far) and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Its all about healthy choices. Mandyd829 -
