My mood while writing this blog: Ready 2 get off work! |
My daughter is going to be 3 months next week. Just about a week ago, I have started putting one tablespoon of banana oatmeal in her nighttime bottle.
Is that ok? What ago do you start putting oatmeal in their bottles? Do you use oatmeal or the rice cereal? I still use the slow flow nipples right?
I give her 4 oz at a time, what did you give your kids at 2-3-4 months?
Whats the next step after this? When do I start baby food?
When do I start apple juice?
Can I give her taste of a popsicle or taste of a banana yet?
When do I make an actual bowl of oatmeal for her instead of just putting it in her bottle?
When do I switch to the fast flow nipples?
I know I have a million questions, any ones that you can answer please do....
Baby Veyana is doing great :) She is a SUPER happy baby and only fusses if she has gas, or if someone touches her with cold hands :)
Thank you for whatever answers you can give me ladies!!! xoxo!

Thursday, 19 Nov Really babies aren't equipped to eat solids until they are at least 4 months old. What does your pedi say? babylicious2(blue) -

Monday, 26 Oct My dr was saying that technically you should be only giving the baby formula or breat milk until she is about 4 months old. She also brought up a point that putting the cereal in the bottle was a choking hazard. I used to actually put it in my sons bottle and cut the nipple hole bigger LOL Never thought of it as a choking hazard... I am a bit torn on this whole issue myself. The food will sit in their tummies longer which helps them sleep longer unless you are lucky enough to have your little girl sleep through the night already. I let my Arianna eat as much bottle as she wants. She will eat anywhere from 4-8oz depending on how hungry the little heffer is LOL I am going to wait on Juice and water in her bottle until she is about 4mo probably like the dr recommended. And then I will start her on the cereal. gixxerbabe08 -
Saturday, 24 Oct i would use rice first thats what the dr.'s recommend. and if u do use oatmeal use the regular one not mixed with anything. and juice i would start at like 6 months another thing i heard is about apple juice on a show. they compared apple jucie and orange juice and they found apple juice causes discomfort in the babies stomach b/c something about them being little and their digestive track lol i ant remember exactly what they said and how they put it but basically apple juice is the worst for the babies not that its unhealthy but it hurts their stomach. i would switch to fast flow nipples now dont let her taste anything until shes in the older months and try to feed her cereal by spoon earliest at 4 months but if u see she doesnt know what to do witht he spoon wait another month. and about how many oz u should be giving her whatever satisfy her. one more thing instead of using cereal at night to make her sleep longer i seen in the store there is a night time enfamil formula that i guess supposively makes them sleep longer i wouldn't know if it works as i breastfeed but i would give it a try its a blue can. i don't know if u have stop and shop near u lol but thats where i seen it mfbrown -
Friday, 23 Oct Is that ok? It's all up to the mommy! I put that tiny amount of cereal in Noelle's bottle when she was only a couple months old. What ago do you start putting oatmeal in their bottles? I've never heard of putting oatmeal in the bottle, but cereal I have. Do you use oatmeal or the rice cereal? I use flavored rice cereal sometimes (they have the kind with fruit or whatever if you want to give something other than plain ol' rice flavor) I still use the slow flow nipples right? My daughter is 6 months old and we still use the slow flow. We probably always will just because otherwise she practically drowns in the fast!I give her 4 oz at a time, what did you give your kids at 2-3-4 months? My daughter was around 5-6 oz or so but Noelle was a piggy! :0)Whats the next step after this? When do I start baby food? We started introducing some baby food every now and then at 3-4 months like a small taste of something I was eating (like spaghetti sauce or something like that) and by 5 months tried to make a routine out of cereal and her fruits and veggies. She's 6 months 3 weeks now and she's doing well. When do I start apple juice? You can slowly introduce juice but be careful to because it does give them more calories than they need and helps them poop (so baby might get the runs) Now that Noelle is 6 months and our doc said to start introducing a sippy cup to her we give her just a little juice mixed with water but they don't really need juice until later. Can I give her taste of a popsicle or taste of a banana yet? I wouldn't give her any banana yet. Noelle's 6 months and they're telling me to wait a little more until she gets the hang of chewing her food rather than just swallowing it. But to let her suck a popcicle is fine because she won't choke :0) They are great for teething too. When do I make an actual bowl of oatmeal for her instead of just putting it in her bottle? I started at 4 months. Just little bit at a time. When do I switch to the fast flow nipples? I never will because Noelle will be big enough for sippys and big girl cups by the time she can handle a fast nipple I think. :0) sweetgyal -
Friday, 23 Oct hey girl, well when i had my 1st son, at 3 months i was giving him rice cereal only at night time, they usual say that the oatmeal is a little having for them this early, so give them rice, because its a little lighter. thats the advice i had got from his doctor. now with new son, when he turns 3 1/2 months on going to give him poridge, it's a mixture jamaicans give their babies instead of the rice or oatmeal. so i dont see anything wrong with you giving her a little oatmeal at night, as long as it only at night for now, since she is still young.
