My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
Why don't they have a tired icon?? All these silly faces and not one of them is yawning. They need to realize we're a bunch of preggos and we're not smoking cigars or hitting ourselves on the head with bats :) But anyways, i digress....
What are the requirements for fathers for the birth certificate? My neighbor Danielle is about to pop any day now and she was asking me and I realized I have NO idea?!?!!!
Does the dad have to be there for him to be on the birth certificate? Do you just tell them who the dad is and it goes on there or how does it work? Does she need his social security number or no? I tried my best to answer her questions but hell, I have no idea, this is my first time having a baby, but I sure did tell her I have a great group of ladies that'll tell me the business :) Having you guys to turn to for everything is so great :)
Her and her baby daddy arent married, he's not in the picture and I think he got warrants and stuff, but she wants to put him on the birth certificate, what do I tell her? I tried to google it and ask jeeves but couldnt come up with nothin.
MEANWHILE.... I'm doing good, bigger and bigger by the day i'd say. My boyfriend still snores so loud I want to punch him in the mouth, but hey, you can't win em all right! We are counting down the days till our little girl gets here and we cant WAIT :) I'm interviewing people for my job while I'm on maternity leave this coming wednesday, so that'll be fun, I'm gonna pick someone that can do my job just as long as they dont do it better then me ;) Ha ha, ok im gonna try to go to bed now, I always find I have better luck if I fall asleep before my man does! Here's hopin!!!
Love ya ladies!!!

Wednesday, 27 May Her best bet is to call the Department of Human Services in the state in which she lives to get the exact requirements.
Even if he is listed as the father on the birth certificate, though, that doesn't mean he owes child support. In most states, unless he signs a voluntary acknowledgment of paternity, a court will still have to issue an order of paternity to obligate him for support (though if he has outstanding warrants, collecting may be difficult - - though as long as he is on the hook, if he gets picked up on any of those warrants, it is easier to get him into court on the child support issues!) Best of luck to your friend. imdondee -
Saturday, 23 May I have several friends who gave their children the father last name without him being there. In fact I have been told you can give child any last name you want. As for the father name on the certificate he has to sign paperwork, unless he is your husband. AllyCat62683 -
Friday, 22 May He can sign and he would have to be there I believe, my son's father was and since we weren't married he had to sign some sort of other form too. But I was in South Carolina and not sure how it works in different states. I bet if you google it you can find something on it. Or even call the hospital and ask them.
My BF still snores and I have been using a fan on high power to try to drown out the sound and it helps sometimes. Or tylenol PM to knock you out helps or a small glass of red wine which are both totally OK. Good luck with the sleep its always a battle at my house. babylicious2(blue) -

Friday, 22 May Yeah in my state the father has to fill out the paternity packet and sign it when we fill out the birth certificate stuff at the hospital. My husband doesn't snore but he always makes noises when he freakin sleeps and I want to kick him to the couch! I only care when I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep cuz he's so loud!!! UGH...but other then that glad everything else is going good for you :-) julz -
Friday, 22 May Where I live the father has to be present and they give him a acknowledgement of paternity packet, he signs it with a witness(nurse) present and the hospital sends it in. They give the mom and dad a carbon copy of it. I know they have an amount of time that they can come up and sign it..it's not necessarily while you or the baby are at the hospital I think it's a week or 10 days. I'm not sure what happens if he does not get there in that time. With all of my children (me and my hubby have been together for almost 12 years, but we are not married) we got 2 birth certificates, one with mine and baby's name then one with all 3 of our names. You might be able to just call the maternity ward at your hospital and they can direct you to the correct person to speak to.
Somehow it went from my hubby being the snorer to me being the loud snorer..heehee I gues I am just really tired all the time..haha indigocream -
Friday, 22 May Check with the county regester...its different in every county/ state in Dallas county state of Texas... Here the father does not have to be there nor has to sign.... But you must put him on to start the child support stuff... either way the state of texas will do a blood test if you file child support... mizzkeisha -
Friday, 22 May Yeah, in order for the baby's fathers name to be put on the birth certificate, the father must be present and must have valid id(drivers license, state issued id card) in order to sign it. stephanie1stbaby -
Friday, 22 May Yeah- I agree with preggob., the father has to sign the birth certificate- that's the only way his name can go up there. And, as far as your boyfriend snoring-grrr! Lol. My DH BREATHES extra loud and I be wanting to smother him with a pillow! mom*of*2*rocker*babies -
Thursday, 21 May I know that when I had my son they told my ex that he either had to be at the hospital and sign it when I did.Or he could come in up until like aweek after the baby is born and put his name on it.But the father is the only person who can put his name on it from what I know.
