10-6-2009 - 34 wk ultrasound!!!

My mood while writing this blog: SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!

Oh Ladies!!!!! I had the greatest ultrasound in the world yesterday. It was a new place that my doctor referred me to since I switched delivery hospitals. This place was OFF THE CHAIN ladies!!! I soooo wish I knew about it earlier, id have BEEN going there for SURE!

This is my fifth ultrasound since as many of you know, i have an extra part of placenta up there so they have been doing monthly growth monitor ultrasounds, meaning i've seen my baby girl at 8wks, 20wks, 24wks, 28wks, 34wks. The first thing I asked when we walked up in there yesterday was if they were gonna validate my parking since I had to take a little ticket to park in the garage. They said 'no, but since we don't, here is a DVD that they will record your ultrasound on' Shit, O-K!! I'm all the way with it!

After virtually no waiting time they called us back into the little room, and the lady got me set up on the bed thing and leaned me back and told me it would only be a few moments before the ultrasound tech came in. On the ceiling in the room are these little tiny lights made to look like stars, and the lighting was dim in the room and the star lights were twinkling it was really nice :) Then the ultrasound tech came in and she was so personable and friendly as compared to all the other people that have done all my past ultrasounds. The first question she asked me is 'do you know what your having?' and i replied, 'yes, a girl! but you can definately verify for me because my worst fear is that i've done all this planning for my little girl and then all of a sudden she pops out and has a dick and balls!' we laughed, and she tucked the towels in place and gooped me up and put the doppler to my stomach and instantly on the screen appears her little butt and her little girl parts! She took a picture right away and labeled it 'girl for sure'!!! We all had a good laugh! Cute my little princess easing mommy's worries right away!! Then she told me that she's gonna try to get a few face shots before she gets started on all the technical stuff, so she gets up in her face, and little one is head down with her head right on my bladder and her feet up in my ribs, and she asked me if i knew what all the lines were on the head, i said no and she told me that babygirl has a full head of hair!! i KNEW it!!!! That explains all the damn heartburn!!! CUUUUTE her! :)

Then as she is trying to get a profile shot, she is telling me that babygirl has her arm over her face, but then CLICK, she flips a switch and it switches over to 4d!!!!! Im like WHAAAAT??? I didnt know you guys could DO that! I know that my insurance sure as hell doesnt cover 4d ultrasounds and i wasn't able to find one in the area cheaper then 200$ so i gave up on the idea and forgot all about it, and this lady is like, oh yeah, its on me, i just want to get you a few good face shots since you seem so excited! So once she switched it up into 4d you could TOTALLY see her little face!!!! There was a part of the umbilical cord going over part of her nose, and she still had her arm over part of her face, but you can TOTALLY see her!!! It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

This was SO unexpected and SO amazing! (Its ALL on DVD too!) and then she goes on and checks the heart, the brain, takes pictures of her little feet and little hands, and all and all it was a great experience! Baby girl is doing great, she is 5 pounds right now, and with 6 weeks left they say she'll gain a 1/2lb a week so if I go full term, she should weigh about 8 pounds! They said this is my last ultrasound since her growth has been normal and they dont have anything to worry about!! :)

So I got some GREAT pictures, I got to see her little face (!!!!) and I know she is healthy, and all it cost me was 5$ for parking :)

So we came home and watched the DVD and I made a date with my girlfriends to get together and watch it this weekend since they are so excited too! My man meanwhile couldn't wait and called literally about ten of his friends over bragging the whole time that she looks just like him, and of course they're all co-signing, 'Oh ya man, thats all you!' Ha ha, she's beautiful, thats all I know. And 5 weeks and 6 days til my due date.

Hope all you ladies are doing well!!! And thank you all for your great advice on the heartburn, now that I know its a full head of hair on her head, it makes it sooooo worth it! I'm drinking lots of milk though and bought a big ol pack of tums :)
