| 17-7-2008 - BILLS BILLS BILLS!!! TTC or NOT??? |
My mood while writing this blog: Confused |
OK here is my issue. I am in the military and am moving to California in early September. Me and my hubby just got married(July 6, 2008) and we paid for the Wedding out of our pocket and also the honeymoon as well. Now today at work I sat down to write all of our bills, payments, debts, ect. and I was shocked at the results! As you know when you get married you incorporate your spouses bills with your own, so that is what I did and I all of a sudden have this overwhelming feeling of how we are going to pay off everything. You see I have this things where I feel guilty taking vacations and doing excessive activities for enjoyment knowing that we could be using that money for paying off our bills.
Now you may be wondering why I amsharing this and what this has to do with TTCing. Well here it is...I am starting to wonder if we are financially ready to be bringing another life into the world and providing for them as well as paying off of our bills. As of now we are comfortable and don't really have any financial setbacks and are able to go on vacations and do extracurricular activities with no problem. But what will happen when we have to shift our bill payments for diapers and formula?! Maybe I am being paranoid but I am seriously thinking of focusing on paying off all of our bills for the next year and then try to TTC again. I really want us to have a baby...
Any advice?

Friday, 18 Jul From a mother of 3.... PAY OFF YOUR BILLS..... it will make the process so much less stressful.. because heaven forbid you have a tough pregnancy and can not work .. you will not have to get so far behind and have that extra stress.. We struggle with our first 2.. then waited 8 yrs for our 3rd.. and we paid everything off.. Put asside money for when I was off and even had enough for my hubby to quit and be a stay at home dad .. and my eldest daughter now 14 .. says thank you all the time for having one of us home to help them with things... Having a baby so be a fun time.. a wonderful time. but if you have to focus on money.. it is to stressful..... I did it both ways .. and if money was tight or we had a lot to pay off I would not be working on number 4 until we were caught up... carly79 -

Thursday, 17 Jul I say do what feels right. A lot of people (me) waited until they were financially stable and secure hoping for the "perfect" time and the reality is that there is always something. Waiting is okay, because you get to just enjoy being a couple and enjoy the marriage because it is an adjustment even if you have dated for a while. You are young, so you have time, just don't wait forever, because something will always come up. My husband and I waited because HE wanted everyrhing to be just so, I was ready at 27. You seem to be a good planner and have realistic expectations, so just do what you feel is best and you can't go wrong. Me on the other hand--I'm fighting against the clock now. Jadas-Babies1006 -
