| 17-4-2008 - The roller coaster ride begins again!! | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
Well, here we go again, on the fickle pathway of trying to concieve our first child... again. I think that this time around I am a little more realistic and less idealistic than I was when my husband and I tried for the first time last November. For those of you who haven't read my page before, let me sum up, for those who had, skipped down to the bottom couple of paragraphs!
After a couple of months of trying, my husband and I were extremely surprised to see the little stick say Pregnant! We hadn't really expected it to be such a short time, but heck we weren't going to complain. So we went through a bookstore and paid enough money to get a small Pacific Island out of debt for Pregnancy books - How to cope being Pregnant; How to cope with your husband whilst being pregnant; How is your husband supposed to cope whilst his wifes head is spinning 360 degrees; you know the ones?
Anyway, we were really excited although it all seemed a little unreal. Seven weeks and 4 days into the pregnancy was a dark day for me and I will gloss over the darkness and simply say that I lost the baby. The dark days that followed were helped by a few members of the website who posted words of support and of course my loving hubby - whom I thank God and any and all other deities for daily. When I spoke with my Doctor the day after it happened, she told me that my body was 'very efficient' to recognise that something wasn't right with baby. I think that is the first time ever a Doctor has said something other than my body was anything but overweight! First time for anything I suppose.
This is the first month that we have decided to move our status from being "Pregnant: Not anymore" to "Pregnant: Trying to Concieve" - a red letter day if ever I say one and hence my choice of emoticon! I have been getting up early each morning (and if you knew me you'd know that short of a national disaster that is unheard of) and jumping on my treadmill to get/keep fit, drinking milk, taking pre-natal vitamins and all those good things in order to do everything possible to make the next baby more comfortable cos I'd kinda like them to stick around a little longer!
So keep reading as I am an avid blogger and will let you all in on my trials and tribulations over the coming months. And I'd love to read other blogs from keen bloggers
Take care!
