17-3-2009 - Gonna be a Long Night

My mood while writing this blog: worried and nervous, but prepared

Mason just woke up about 11:45 and was yelling out of his room that he was cold.
I went in to pull the cover up and when I got close to his face his breath was absolutely awful.
I automatically took my hands to his face and he was burning up.....(temp 102.8)
I gave him motrin at 11:50
He says he throat hurts and I just got over strep last week....(that explains the breath and fever)
So I am obviously taking him to the doctor in the morning, but I have the rest of the night to deal with this.

Due to Masons chronic epilepsy *anytime* he has any sort of temperature elevation, he's seizures come in clusters and they are usually more severe than normal.
Even though we have been dealing with this for 5 1/2 years now....its still unnerving.
So now...I feel like I can't sleep and I am pretty much standing watch.
Im scared . . . and it makes you feel helpless.

Something as simple as strep can turn his little world upside down, and throw my anxiety out the roof.
