29-9-2008 - Pregnancy wrap..yes or no.? Happy, curiousMy mood while writing this blog:
Happy, curious

I was wondering if anyone you had there baby or heard of it..did a pregnancy wrap before..meaning: after you have your baby and get home and settled, have someone or your partner wrap your stomach up with a Ace bandage looking wrap that you use around your leg or knee's when they ache, or even a wrap in the store, for your stomach. Have anybody heard of it, I wanted to do it and Hubby will do it for me, but where can I find one and did anybody try it before..?

They say doing that will get your stomach to stretch back compared to just letting your stomach heal and hang, by doing that, it will help in the long run that just trying to get to go back by its own.

of course it won't take the fat off for us..lol but help it stay back in shape instead of letting the baby fat hang.

Just wondering if anybody used it before.?

Yes that works!!! you ever see on thos eplastic surgery shows they always wrap the tummy after a tummy tuck... well it is the same thing!!! and just wear a gertle or gurdle, whateva!! Wrap it up!

I started using a gurdle a week after my c-section... a very tight one! Doctors told me to wait till i was able to walk straight and felt good.. but hell i wanted my stomach to go back in place! and it is! I was very consistant at first so it also helped me loose weight plus the breastfeeding but after 3 weeks i started using it only once in a while.... but yes it def does work... My baby is 2 months old now and i still got 4lbs left to loose but atleast my stomach isnt hanging which is a great thing!!!! i def recommend it!

britney, ladies in the asian community have been using belly wraps for ages, i mean a long time...like my grandmas grandma if you know what i mean. BUT they arent the kind that you would find in the store. the ones that theyve used are all home made. basically a really long piece of cloth, wrapped around and around your belly post pregnancy to help your belly get its old shap and your skin not be all saggy.

what we did for my aunts last pregnancy was just go to a frabic store, buy about 4 yards of 100% cotton cloth. at home, cut it in half, sew it together so that it makes 8yrds altogether. now starting from your lower abdoman, you want to start wrapping up, as tight as you can take it, pulling the excess skin upward, this will help with you skin not sagging and having a little baby pooch later on. when you get to the top, simply tuck in the excess cloth and your done... my aunt kep this on almost 24hrs a day minus batheing and stuff... it really helps.

the differance between this one and the ones that you buy at the store is that the ones at the store just kinda hold everything in like a gurdel and most of the time are strechy, while this one pulls everything up and holds it in with alot more control.
i hope that this helps you out a bit...
take care...

Hiya,

I haven't heard of a baby wrap but I did have a skin wrap done on my wedding day - I lost a few inches all over - mainly in fluid I have to say but I was in Cyprus and it was sooo humid!

It is great for a one off but I wouldn't say it was something you should do all the time.

Brittany I have heard of pregnancy wrapping and heard that it was a good thing to help your stomach shrink back...I purchased my wrap from babooshbaby.com and it's called a "taut". I have never done it before but think it couldn't hurt to try!! I have mine already to go!
