07-11-2008 - 4 weeks pregnant LethargicMy mood while writing this blog:
Lethargic

Last Friday, on Halloween, I got a faint positive on a HPT. My AF was a week late, and from the day it was due I started taking HPTs first thing in the morning every day. They all turned up negative but I didn't get discouraged because this was a similar situation with my son. With him, I had several negative HPTs and even a negative urine test from the doctor until I got a positive HPT 5 days after my AF was due.

After I got the first positive HPT last week, I wanted to make sure it was true so I tested again with a digital test that confirmed I was pregnant with the word - PREGNANT. I was so exited at the news, and had to wait a few hours for my husband to come home for lunch to share the news with him. In the mean time I was excitedly talking about it with Liam, although he really has no clue! When my husband walked in the door I quickly grabbed Liam and the HPT and had him hand it to my husband. I thought it was the perfect way to break the news. I have my first doctor's appointment on the 10th, although I don't think I will have an ultrasound with it being so early in the pregnancy.

So far my symptoms have been almost constant bloating, daily heartburn, slight nausea, total spaciness and really lacking my usual energy. It's been a little difficult to be productive in my online classes and it's taking a lot longer for me to get assignments done because it's hard for me to concentrate with the mentioned symptoms. With my son I didn't get any of these symptoms until I was close to my second trimester!
