16-12-2008 - 10 Week OB Appointment

My appointment yesterday went very well. Unfortunately Liam couldn't go to daycare since I made yet another doctor appointment for him in regards to his rash, and his appointment was right before mine so he had to come along with me. Good news is the doctor diagnosed his rash as pityriasis rosea, and it isn't contagious or harmful. It looks worse than what it is and can takes weeks to disappear. Since I am only 10 weeks along, it is still to early to detects the baby's heartbeat by the doppler on the belly, so I had to have another fun ultrasound. Liam cried the entire time...only to quiet when the baby's heart beat was heard for a few seconds. I think this prompted the doctor to rush through but I am happy I got to see the little one on the ultrasound again - much bigger and more active this time. It was all over the screen! The heart beat was 180 bpm, which is pretty high for me, since Liam's never went above 160 bpm. The doctor made a comment that she thinks it is a girl (I'd love to have a little girl). I have my 14 week appointment in the middle of January so I look forward to that.
