06-9-2008 - Shower/My new nephew

Hey everyone! Well, we had my "big" shower today. We had a few concerns because Hurricane/Tropical Storm Hanna was supposed to hit North Carolina (and we had people driving from all over the state to Raleigh). Luckily, it wasn't bad (even on the coast), and here in Raleigh, it stopped raining by 11:30ish this morning. Thank goodness--that was just in time--as that was when we were starting to load the car to take things over to the venue (Woman's Club). By the end, the sun was even coming out! Everything turned out really well--the food was great, the cake was great, and the company wonderful! We couldn't have asked for a better day--but now we're very TIRED! :)

My sister-in-law was pregnant and scheduled to have a C-Section on September 19th. She started to go into labor early on Wednesday. They gave her some medicine to stop her contractions, sent her home, and said that the next time she started having contractions that they would go ahead and do the c-section. She generally has very complicated deliveries (1st child--failure to progress that ended in a c-section where she had to have a blood transfusion; 2nd child--scheduled c-section where she had to have a blood transfusion AND one of baby's lungs collapsed; this child--C-section with NO blood transfusion--YAY! BUT baby is still in neonatal unit as he is having trouble breathing--yesterday he was only able to use 43% of what his lung capacity should
have been--OR SOMETHING to that extent. Anyway, we are praying that he will be okay!) We haven't seen little Ayden yet (hopefully soon!)

Congratulations on your new nephew!!! Your sister in law sounds like she definitely has a rough time with labor/deliveries. Keep us posted on little Ayden!
