| 09-10-2008 - To keep everyone updated... | My mood while writing this blog:Happy as usual :) |
Well, I had written a long update a couple of weeks ago, and as I was saving it, my internet timed out and I lost the entire thing....I didn't have the heart to rewrite ite :) SO--it has been a while I know :)
My sis-in-law's baby boy is doing wonderfully. (He got out of the hospital about a week and a half after his birth). He had his one month checkup with the pediatrician today (time flies!) He is putting on weight and cute as a button. I got to see him the other weekend (and hold and feed him), but goodness, it is hard to hold a newborn with a BIG pregnant belly :)
Well, I went to the doctor this morning. They said my blood pressure was perfect (120/80 YAY!). I think I've officially gained 30 lbs. Baby was being "feisty" this morning and kicked the nurse while she was counting the heartbeat (He was having fun in there as it was 160 bpm :)) Then I had the lovely Strep-B test (my FAVORITE!), and they checked my cervix. Much to my surprise-the doctor says "Wow, the baby is really low....you are 3-4 cm dilated...70...no more like 80% effaced...and the baby is around +1 station....your cervix is very soft. How many contractions did you say you've been having a day?" Well, I had no idea. The only thing I had been feeling were the BHC's and period like cramps (not particularly painful)...so I was VERY surprised. Anyway, she said if I do not have him in the next week, then she bets that it will be in the next 2 weeks (and at least an October birthday). SO that is very exciting--I was a bit on edge all day (feeling like a ticking time bomb!), but then I realized that I just need to RELAX. All of the dilating has happened with my blissfully unaware, so I'm just going to continue to do what I've been doing (Let it just happen!).
I've officially finished the nursery (just a few things things left to hang on the wall), but everything is put away and ready to go. Now, I just have a few things left to get tomorrow (like nursing bras--AH!)...pack my bag....and hopefully I will have time to clean my car tomorrow before we put the carseat in! (Worst case scenario, I only live about a mile from the hospital, so I can get a family member to put it in for me or grab any items that I left!)
Hope everyone is well!
