| 02-1-2010 - Halfway and the NEW YEAR! | My mood while writing this blog:Excited |
Just wanted to updated quickly on my halfway point (20 weeks) and say that we are so excited for 2010! I have been feeling absolutely great and getting more energy back, which is so nice! I feel our little girl move everyday and that is so reassuring. She is also getting strong enough to feel her from the outside now too, so that's been nice for Ben. I love laying in bed in the morning and feeling her move and kick all over the place!
Well, we said goodbye to 2009 and brought in 2010 by staying home and watching movies. It was so relaxing and so perfect. Bright and early in the morning of the new year, we got up and went to Babies R Us to shop for nursery furniture. We saw in the flyer that there was going to be a sale, but we couldn't have imagined just how good it was going to be. We LOVE the furniture we have for Emma (our daughter) and wanted to get the same stuff for the new baby because it's such good quality and it grows with them (convertible from a crib to a toddler bed and then to a full bed). When we got there, we ordered the furniture (the set was $1300 when we purchased it for Emma about 2 years ago). We got a MUCH better deal this time!!! They were running a special that if you bought the dresser/changing table combo, you got the crib for free. I also told them I had a 20% off coupon that I was hoping to use. They let me use that and they told me we would get an additional 30% off because of the sale. We ended up saving over $600 and got the dresser/changing table combo and the crib all for $285!!!! I couldn't believe it!!!!! I am so excited. Emma's furniture we purchased with the hutch as well, but the hutch isn't available in the finish of the new baby's set, so we're just going to put other shelving up for storage. It's still such a great deal! The only thing we need yet to be able to bring the new baby home is a mattress. I feel so relieved to get that all out of the way and we still have nearly 20 weeks to go.
Things have been so great that I think 2010 just might be our lucky year. We have been so blessed. Ben and I always get along so well and nothing has changed there, Emma (our 1 1/2 year old) is growing and talking up a storm and is such a good little girl, and the new baby is progressing just as she should and we can't wait for her to arrive in May! Life is good!!
