| 19-6-2009 - Nameless Baby boy has arrived,. My birth story.... | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
Well.. I had tried everything to get this labor started. I thought that since this was my third baby, he would come early but nope… My first U/S date said June 21 but my period date was May 31st… Since my second U/S said the 15th, I went by that date. Friday the 12th, Dr. Woodward said I could be induced on Monday if I wanted. I told him I “might” go but probably not…
On the 13th, our entire family went up Kenville Mine Road for a 3 hour 4x4 trip. Cory “said” we were lost a few times might have made my contractions worse…lol after, we went to DQ and they stopped. Baby liked ice cream and wanted to stay in….lol
Sunday night, I lost my plug. I figured I would go to the hospital the next morning to see if I had any progress and I did. I was 1cm and 50% effaced so he gave me a cervidil and told me it wouldn’t do much since my cervix was already soft. So, I went home for a nap
1:30-2:00pm I woke up to a few contractions. They felt much different than all the BH I had been experiencing. Lana phoned after 3 and told me to get off the phone and “call my people” as in a 7 min phone call, I had two… They were not 10 min apart anymore. Mom got here around 4 and 4:30 we left for the hospital. When we got there, Braeden met us on the Mat floor.
At this time, I was still only 1’ish cm. The doc showed up after 6’ish and said I was still only nearly 2 but 90% which is a bit more progress but it looked like it could be a long night. I tried to walk around as much as I could to let gravity do its thing but after 7 they started to get worse and I started to panic. It was only 2 years ago I did this with Tanner and I remember that labor like yesterday!!!
My fluids started to leak (thought I just pee’d since there wasn’t that much) Cory called my nurse and she said it was fluid and there was a ton of show…. Yaaaa progress!!!!
I rolled to my left side and found a tree to concentrate on…. That tree and waving my hand in the air or tapping my forehead seemed to really help with my contractions… breathing through them thinking, it is almost over… it is almost over! LOL
At about 8:45, I felt like I had to push… I didn’t say anything at first thinking it was crazy and just kept breathing through them until it changed quickly… I told Cory to get the nurse again and sure enough I started to have a few contractions last a very long time and wanted to push even harder. I finally let her check me and she said I was ready! WHAT THE…..??? I heard her whisper to the nursing student, Call the doctor and make it quick…
As each contraction wanted me to push, I could hear them get everything ready and moving very quickly…lol The nurse was preparing Cory to get ready… He started to hold my leg. Just after 9 my doctor showed up and he was born by 9:32…. I couldn’t believe how much easier it all went. The entire labor I compared it to Tanners birth and it was nothing like it. It was amazing!!!
Cory was right there in the middle of it all. He saw the head peak in and out. I guess the baby as face down but cork screwed later getting the cord around his head and the doc had to push him back to unwrap it. Baby also had an arm out with one shoulder….lol I think they were worried that he dislocated it but he was fine. Still not really sure…! We had amazing nurses and staff since we were the only mom in labor. Both other boys, they didn’t even have a room for me…lol
Baby slept from 12 the first night all the way till 6:30am. Slept the entire day away… Second night he cluster fed from 11 till 3’ish but then slept till 7:30. Our first night home, he slept from 10 till 4:30….. Awesome! Milk is in and the engorgement isn’t as bad as with Tanner. We will see about the sore nipples soon though…lol The aftermath contractions are terrible though.
I will update you soon as to what name we choose!
