31-7-2009 - ER visit-contractions

My mood while writing this blog: tired

I didn't get on here yesterday, but i started having very slight hardly noticable cramps Wednesday night & didn't really think about it much since he was moving a lot & i wasn't having the belly tightening. Last night about 11pm they started getting a little worse & i kept having contractions with them too. It wasn't hurting really bad, just mostly uncomfortable. I waited till almost 1am to decide to go to the ER because they were hurting more & coming every 2 minutes. I went to the hospital that is like 3 minutes away from our house, but it's not the hospital i'm supposed to deliver at.

I got to the ER at 1am & they brought me to L&D & hooked me up to the monitors for the contractions & his h/b. They checked my cervix & said i was a fingertip to 1 centimeter. So they monitored me for a while. I thought the contractions were calming down on my way to the ER & after i got there, but they weren't! After they left me to be monitored they started getting pretty bad. I was still having them every 2 minutes & they were pretty painful! So after them hurting for a little bit like that, i called the nurse in & said they were hurting & she said i was contracting every 2 mins & i had to get a shot to stop them. I forgot what it was, but it started with a T. She said i could get up to 3 doses.

So she gave me the shot & the contractions almost immediately started feeling better & they spaced out pretty good. The shot made me feel jittery & my heart was pounding, but she said it was supposed to do that. She monitored me for another 20 mins & said she was going to give me another dose to try to completely make them stop since i was still having a few. I got the 2nd shot & they almost completely stopped. I still had like maybe 2-3 VERY VERY little ones after that. So at about 3:35 she came in & said i could go home & to come back if they started again or i was having bleeding or anything like that.

I got home at about 3:45am & drank some water like she told me to & went to bed. I was so tired! I'm glad the contractions stopped last night though. I wasn't really worried about them because i knew they would just stop them. I made Hubby stay home & sleep since he had to work this morning. He was complaining about it, but i told him they would just monitor me & stop the contractions & send me home & that's exactly what they did. I didn't want him to have to sit up there with me & still go to work in the morning. He kept asking me this morning if i was ok & if i needed him to stay home & etc. He's been texting me too asking if i'm ok.

I'm still having the cramps, but not any contractions that i can feel. I hope it stays that way. I hope the cramps go away b/c they are really really annoying. I have a dr. appt. Wednesday so i have to tell my dr. about what happened then. I thought about calling before then, but i probably won't unless something happens again. I'm kind of worried about the cramps, but he's still moving around so i guess he's ok. I'm going to get them to check Wednesday to see if i'm dialated anymore. They didn't check me a 2nd time at the ER.

I have to seriously make sure i get all of his stuff ready now b/c i'm worried he will come early now. I thought for sure he would be late, but i don't know now. She said i was at a higher risk now for him to come before my due date now, but he might not so we will see...
