14-10-2009 - 20 Days Old

My mood while writing this blog: tired

This is my first blog since Silas was born...Silas is 20 days old today :( I can't believe he's going to be 3 weeks old tomorrow! It's so sad! I want him to stay little forever, but time is going by so fast already! He's doing great so far. He isn't the best sleeper at night, but he's great at it during the day :) So i'm pretty much exhausted all the time. It's ok though :)

Breastfeeding is going ok. I'm supplementing some bc he had jaundice when he was born & they said i needed to feed him more till my milk came in so the jaundice would go away. He's fine now, but my milk supply isn't the greatest now. He will eat both breasts & still cry till i give him a bottle. He doesn't do it every time, just a couple of times a day. I'm trying to increase my milk supply & i don't give him a bottle unless he just won't stop crying.

His dr. appt. is Monday. He had his first dr. appt. when he was 5 days old so that's why he's getting one at 3 & 1/2 weeks. They usually do one at 2 weeks, but oh well.

He's so beautiful! He makes me cry just looking at him bc i love him so much! I know he's gotten bigger already & we will find out just how much bigger at his dr. appt. He still doesn't fit into his clothes though. He could fit into preemie clothes when he was born bc he's so skinny. He's a little too long for them though. His newborn size clothes are too big for him & his 0-3 month size swallows him whole! We had to buy more newborn size for him bc we didn't have much. Everyone thought he would be alot bigger when he was born bc i gained so much weight, but he was tiny.

I have only taken him a couple of places so far since the flu is going around. I don't even want to take him out of the house much bc i'm afraid he will get sick. He's got a little baby acne right now on his cheeks. I have to wash his face every time he eats bc he gets red spots around his mouth if i don't. He likes his baths now that his umbilical cord & circumcision has healed & he can get a real bath. He likes the warm water :) He doesn't like getting out though bc he gets cold. I steam up the bathroom before he gets a bath & i dry him off in there. I guess i'll have to start dressing him in there too bc he gets cold going to his room.

I don't know how much weight i have lost yet, but i had lost 20 lbs as of like a week & a half or so ago. I don't know when i'll get to weigh myself again since we don't have a scale at home. I hope i've lost more...We went walking once, but haven't been able to go again yet. I'm afraid to take Silas walking by myself in case something happens. DH is too tired to go after he gets home from work. I'll figure something out though! I have to get this weight off! I hope everyone is doing great!
