03-5-2010 - 31 Weeks

My mood while writing this blog:
Scared

Well I'm sat at home, in the living room by myself, really bored!! My dh is helping our grandpa's friend move dirt around, she's a little too old to be doing it herself, so he helps her when she needs it.
Today we went to the hospital and registered, it was weird, kinda doesn't feel like it's so soon to do this, but we were told to do it a couple of weeks ago I'd just been putting it off. But now it's done, it's scary knowing that we only have a matter of weeks till we give birth.
I'm still scared about money problems, dh still hasn't got a job, and not due to lack of trying.. Every week we put in new applications for him, for everything that is near by.. But it's like everyone is hiring but not hiring... I know probably doesn't make any sense. But thankfully I think it looks good with Petco, it would mean he gets to work with his fish again, they are hiring and today we went in to tell them we put in an application and the manager pulled it and is gonna look over it!! Which is good so far.. It means it wont just get passed over..
It makes me feel kinda down and depressed knowing we were prepared for this baby money saved up, he had a good job, government was moving along... but then in febuary dh lost his job, we had to use our savings to pay for bills we have.. and now government started giving us crap..
Everytime my little man moves or daddy gets all loved up and starts stroking my belly and stuff, it helps because it reminds me that we'll figure something out, we'll give our little man all the love he needs and thankfully we know how to look after our finances.. I guess one thing is, my dh family is willing to help by lending us money if we ever need it. People keep suggesting that we apply for government help, but honestly we can't, one of the stipulations of moving over to the USA from the UK.. Which is stupid, you have all those stupid illegal immigrants who get everything they need, but we need just a little assistance and they wont give it to us, because... well I'm not sure... It's not like it would be forever.. I need to work. lol.
Everyone is talking about maternity leave and if I'll stay at home after baby is born and stuff, and honestly I would love to... But right now, it seems I'll be going to work as soon as possible.. Even if it means my dh goes down to part time to look after baby too.

Try not to worry, everything will work out for the best! I hope your DH gets the job at Petco, and that things finally start moving along for you for your status. It does seem stupid that the illegals get benefits, but those who are coming over here the right way don't get a thing if they need it. They're even turning down natural citizens now b/c the system is overextended. Who cares about us, we aren't illegal! ugh!Take it easy as much as you can - keep hydrated and try not to stress too much. I have been having contractions on and off also, so am trying to not do as much and keep hydrated. It seems to be helping a bit.Good luck!
