22-7-2008 - taking first steps OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

megan has been walking for a week now, she will be 9 months in 6 days , she walks really fast and likes to show off abit, she's even learnt how to support herself if she happens to fall backwards using her elbows so she doesnt bang her head on the ground lol its kinda cute...

there is one problem though, she get s these tantrums where she'll get soo upset if she's refused something , she drops on the floor and starts banging her head on the floor really hard and sometimes hits whoever is tryna stop her, any ideas on what to do or how to handle it... i didnt know they can have tantrums at search an early stage...ideas ideas...dont want her hitting people lol...

You go Megan. walking at 9 months already?
Livio started a bit late, but he's walking all the way now. He haven't gotten any attacks of tantrums and hope he won't, cos i can't imagine since he's quiet aggresive already.
Keep well and blessings.

congratulations on Megan walking. My Megan has tantrums too. The ped said they get so frusterated and have not learned how to handle all their emotion that they express them in the form of a tantrum.. He also said they are also at a testy stage were they struggle to be the ones in charge. If they figure out they can get their way through tantrums they will keep doing it., and to pick you battles and stick to your decision and not back down and to be consistant in what and how you react. I know it is not a quick fix answer I wish there was one it would save my daughter alot of bumps too.

there is no way to stop it i dont think. my 5yr old used to do it but he would even go find a wall to bang his head on! i hated it i would just try to hold him and get head butted!
