25-6-2008 - Our 5th Wedding Anniversary

My mood while writing this blog:
Happy

Well what can I say my husband and I made it 5 years in a world where divorces are as easy and as fast to get as a McDonald's hamburger. There are times we want to kill each other and we argue but we just realize fighting for our marriage is so much better than starting over with someone totally new. Adding this new life that is coming into our life is something that we have always talked about (didn't expect yet) but we embrace his coming presence because it is not only bringing us closer it also gives us one more reason to continue to fight for our marriage. We just don’t want a broken home and we both feel really strongly about that!

We had a nice anniversary we started off the day early morning in which I took him to a private clinic to get a 4D ultrasound done it was an incredible experience. It was done on a huge screen and it was nice and comfortable with couches for other viewers. The doctor was hilarious he was really great and really kept us entertained and show us so much in the 30minutes we were in with him. We got color pictures, black and white pictures, a DVD of the experience, and a gift bag it was all worth the money!

Then we went to Sears (we just picked a place last minute) to go and get maternity pictures done, I wasn't too happy with the guy we got we wanted some serious pictures but he wouldn't take any pictures unless we smiled in EVERY picture…then when we saw our proofs I really don't like them they are really cheesy but we purchased a few anyways…we won't be taking our baby to Sears for portraits I am going to ask around before we settle on any one place because I want to get good baby pictures because these are memories that last a lifetime!!!

Then I was so hot and tired we ate at a Chinese restaurant and then went home to take a nap. My husband bought me 3 dozen roses in a huge bouquet it was really beautiful (red, pink, and white) and we got re-dressed and went to one of my favorite restaurants Cheesecake Factory in which we had a good dinner and of course cheesecake. We had other plans but one of the things that sucks about being pregnant is you get so exhausted so quickly and that was me so we went home and went to bed…I know it wasn't a lot but its what I wanted to do considering the cirucumstances (baby on board coming soon) we were orignially supposed to go on a cruise to the Carribean. But we will do that next year while Jordan stays with one set of his grandparents!

Happy Anniversary!! I know what you mean about working it out- and not wanting to start over. Glad you two spent the day togehter. I love the Cheesecake factory!!!

Aww... sounds like you had a very nice anniversary!... I feel exactly the same way about how quick we are to divorce these days... but since our society has adopted the view that we can treat love the same way we treat our trash, we have to take extra measures to combat that way of thinking!

I went to the Cheesecake Factory on my trip to Chicago last month but it was so packed we only had time to get a few cheesecakes to go (it took them almost 40 minutes just to put it in a box and bag!!!) Of course in their defense it was Memorial Day weekend! But it was amazing cheesecake and worth whatever I gained from eating almost 1 1/2 all to myself... thats right... I spared 1/2 to a few friends and 1 slice to my daughter and i ate the rest in 3 days... ate half at one sitting.... lol... oh yeah I was in heaven!!!

Congratulations on your fifith anniversary. I am sure it was great. My fifth anniversary is next Sunday. Its also the day of my 4th baby shower.. So no husband/ wife time for us that day. That's okay we have wanted this little boy for 3 years so we can celebrate our anniversary a day or two early.
